Granted Mega Man 2 might do that to Pac-Man was well, but Mega would also do that to the other two games as well, so we'd be right back to square one anyway. Also I suppose the best argument again The Oregon Trail is simply the
fact that most of these 'dead' characters haven't really taken
advantage of anything like this before, but we ARE in the game

The second half of the bracket is aboslutely killing me. There are at least 6 that I haven't filled in yet. What do y'all have for the Pac-Man, MM2, Oregon Trail, Pong match? I have Pac > MM2, but I'm worried about Oregon trail. Also, am I crazy for having SM64 > SotN, instead of SM64 > RE? >_> --- Q. So yeah, speaking of that division anyway, I'm more worried about Dragon Warrior than I am of Oregon Trails. Contra only managed to get 62% on Phantasy Star, so how does DWIII compare to it? Also, can Contra hold up to Zelda.. or will it just get beaten to the ground just like Metroid? DQIII's generally considered one of the best DQ games, I think. Most
people who have played it love it. I think it's got a pretty damn good
shot at pulling off an upset there since Zelda's going to be sucking up
so much percentage. Probably not the most likely thing to happen,

Give me one good reason round two won't be WoW > Halo 2 > San Andreas > MGS3 Because San Andreas will be last. MGS3 will bomb, but it can only go so low. As for this Pac/Oregon Trail, it seems like a no brainer that Mega Man 2 will be taking a good chunk of the votes (over 55% at least) and the rest will be going to Pac-Man as the only real other option. I think you guys are vastly overestimating how many people have played Oregon Trail. The only reason I've ever played it was because my grade 2 teacher had a copy of it and let us play them on the old Apple IIs in the computer room. --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |

The only reason I've ever played it was because my grade 2 teacher
had a copy of it and let us play them on the old Apple IIs in the

Yeah, I mean, it was a fun game you could play for free instead of
doing actual school work. I know in my case it was often played in
huddles since everybody wanted go hunting or be named in the wagon. I
also had opportunities to play it in grade-school multiple years. --- Prototype Shorthand, do you speak it?! |

Considering how long it's been since a game contest, reading this topic
is probably a bad idea if you want to win. The only time I ever made
the leaderboard was the villains contest, also not what we were used
to, and that was me saying "**** it" and making picks the board would

I've currently got Oregon Trail in second place thanks to all that plus joke-votes and being very distinct from the rest. For a joke character/game to even have a shot of getting second, it must be seen as a joke character/game to the average voter. Hogger wouldn't have advanced to round 2 if it wasn't for the WoW rally, but it's a character that most voters aren't going to see the joke in. Where as with L-Block and WCC, most of the voters were able to see that it was clearly a joke character and decided to throw some of their votes towards them. I can't see too many voters getting the impression of Oregon Trail being a joke game, so I don't think it'll be getting second place. I saw Oregon Trail as the favorite when I first looked at the bracket. Its freaking Oregon Trail and if theres any game that 4chan and joke voters will rally around, its that. Sure, you might get 4chan and some joke voters, but most of your average voters are those who don't follow the contest closely or are visiting the site for the first time aren't going to see the joke that is Oregon Trail. You know, I think some of us are underestimating Resident Evil in that one match. Castlevania has nowhere to go but down and RE has nowhere to go but up. I went through the bracket and made picks that aren't going to change at all. As for WoW and Starcraft, Starcraft has a weak opponent and 2 Square RPGs (both of which I would say are weaker than Starcraft to begin with) in the first round, and OoT sucking up all the percentage in round 2 where FF8 will possibly be slitting with FF9. The only chance Starcraft has of not getting out of that division is if Half Life gets to round 2, and FF8 gets close to Starcraft in Round 1. And if WoW doesn't get out of its division, I'll eat my hat |

that Diablo II won't get rallied. In the 2004 GameSpy tournament Diablo
II was given a massive rally against both Starcraft and Ocarina of
