| I've got Contra there. The original Metroid is
weaksauce and for good reason, it hasn't aged well at all, while Contra

BT, I've currently got Metroid for the opposite reason. Metroid can
still get franchise votes, while Contra becomes more irrelevant with

I had Mega Man there, but I expected it to be closer personally. That's
why I've got Star Fox 64 upsetting MK 64, and I'm not even questioning

how is getting 40% on a series that was just as strong as Metal Gear a disappointment? I have an... uneasy feeling about Brawl. Like, have a hard time seeing
the SFF go Galaxy's way uneasy, and it may beat MGS4 rather comfortably
where it struggled before for seemingly no reason. It'd still have to get lucky as HELL to make it past the quarters, but I'm trying not to underestimate it. You're taking Mega Man to somehow go by scottfree of two Nintendo games after Mario killed Sonic, Mega Man killed Yoshi, and Zelda killing Metroid. Jesus this bracket is just brutal. I've got OOT, CT, FFX, and FF7 in
the finals and OOT over FF7 and I'm not feeling even remotely good

SSB held up well to Super Mario SFF. Unfortunately, considering the
huge amount of hype and love Brawl went through, I'm finding that it's
going to be rallied or supported greatly. In retaliation, other people
fall to Galaxy. I thought this would be good enough to advance them for
two rounds, until they reach MGS4/Fallout3. Fallout stood up
respectably to MGS4 and Brawl, while Brawl will either be hated for
KO'ing Galaxy or will still be splitting votes with it. MGS4 gets all
the real love as a result. Yes, Galaxy is better and has a steadily increasing fanbase, but Brawl... is Brawl. In truth, it's probably the easiest game to rally outside of the Blizzard titles. --- "All the money's in turning face" ~ Gold Knuckle |

You guys are scaring me since I have Brawl at least making the semis and right now have it getting second after FF7. Brawl won't make it past round 2. Brawl... is Brawl. In truth, it's probably the easiest game to rally
outside of the Blizzard titles. If this were true, Brawl wouldn't have been beaten outright during the first GotY poll, or it suggests that MGS4 (and maybe even Fallout 3!) is stronger than it, straight up. Just doesn't click. Brawl has zero reason not to fail based on the GotY polling, but contests work quite different from those. It holds up to a degree (MGS4 falling below, say, 40% is an impossibility), but taking it as gospel spells trouble. --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

Meh, Brawl is Brawl. It steadily increased each round until MGS4
couldn't touch it. If Brawl's in danger, it probably won't be QUITE as
'meh' as it could be. ...also, how stupid am I for contemplating a long string of events in which CT was overrated in the finals against FF7, SM64 was greatly underrated due to huge SFF from OoT, Goldeneye is too independent of Mario to make that big of a splash, and CT faints in R3?
