Well, it's a four-way divided by generation...but at first glance, it
looks surprisingly tough despite this. I don't think this will get
legit results like SB wanted in the nomination process, but this is

Some of these setups are kinda lame, too. MGS/FFT is "cute", but it's
just wasted in the actual match. This is gonna be hard to predict, but
it'd be just as hard if it was 1v1 - it's been so long since we've had

Also, initial impressions (subject to the bracket being changed, apparently): -LoZ and SMB making it so far will be funny -geez, with SMB3 being a lock to make it as well, there's gonna be a ton of Ninty SFF come the late contest -FF7 and OoT meet very early again, with Goldeneye holding OoT down, and either MGS or another Final Fantasy holding FF7 down. I mean, both progress until the end of the contest, but that's harsh -2k4-2k6 is a rorschach blot -MGS4 has a pretty good chance of taking down SSBB considering the multiple opponents and SMG potentially being there --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

second round and SMG doesn't win a match until the division final. Really? You see two games in that group of 8 that could outdraw Brawl, even assuming that it ends up on the wrong end of SFF? I can't see it. Of course, that's why it's a bold prediction. Bit disappointed at 4-packs, but at least it lets us get a bunch of games in that otherwise wouldn't. OK, instant analysis on the first div: Donkey Kong Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! Space Invaders Tetris Tetris is the obvious winner here. Donkey Kong and Punch-Out!! should SFF each other, but I'm not sure if it's enough for Space Invaders to sneak though. I'm honestly not sure which of the two is more popular, I guess I would go with due to name recognition. Mega Man 2 Pac-Man Pong The Oregon Trail Seems like the obvious choice for me, although Oregon Trail could pull an L-Block and sneak in in second. Duck Hunt Galaga Ninja Gaiden Super Mario Bros. Kinda random that Ninja Gaiden gets to the second round, but I would have doubts about Duck Hunt even before SFF comes into play let alone afterwards. Galaga's pretty bad so I'm gonna count it out for now. Civilization Contra Metroid The Legend of Zelda We sort of indirectly saw this already back in Sp2004. LoZ isn't up there with SMB3, but will probably still SFF Metroid pretty bad. Tetris Donkey Kong Mega Man 2 Pac-Man Obvious 2 winners, but somewhat of a crapshoot when it comes to the order. Super Mario Brothers Ninja Gaiden Legend of Zelda Contra Same as above, only I went with what I assume will be a sexy upset. Mega Man 2 Tetris Super Mario Brothers The Legend of Zelda I'm so tempted to take the upset of the two Ninty games massively leeching each other enough for other two to come through instead, but I'm slightly doubtful of that possibility. --- FastFalcon owned me in the Guru Contest! |

Alright... uh... my absolutely useless thoughts: Aww... poor KSS and DKC. DK actually FINALLY gets a quality title in, and it all just falls to pieces. Poor guy. Kirby... just deserved better. One SNES title shoved into three big N64/PSX hits? Aww... DK Vs Iron Mike looks hilarious. Sure, Little Mac's been worth crap, but it's DK's funny title. Tetris will murder about half of his support, and then they'll be choking for all the marbles. Disgaea... just... loldisgaea. SSB/Zelda LFF, PLUS Golden Sun, and it's STILL looking like a last-place finisher. Just hilarious. Paper Mario Vs Metroid Prime looks... uh... interesting and stuff, though Metroid will probably take it down no problem. Banjo got super screwed. Uh... good job MGS? But... seriously, all four? I don't think there's any way to keep LttP out of the final - its only
competition gets crushed by FFVII in the semis. So the only plausible
way Ocarina could win would be FFX coming with it. That's not

Even bringing FFX all the way to the finals (which is actually kinda
likely, despite my MGS biases)... you've got a game that splits the FF
fanbase *way* less than LttP and OoT divide theirs. I just can't see
