I'd be willing to call Red a lock, SF64 should have a very good shot, and DKC2... well it's still a little shaky since so many casuals probably went with DKC1, but I'm leaning toward yes. The Guru choice (SMW2: Yoshi's Island) will be in the bracket. FACT. It probably has the noms and it'll be a matter of whether SB caps each series at 4 entrants. I'm thinking he might allow 5, which should let YI in. Two of the following three games will be in the bracket: FF8, FF9, FF12. FICTION. I don't think FF9 gets the kind of love needed to make a bracket, at least not outside of B8, and I doubt FF12 is ever in contention. Two of the following three games will be in the bracket: LoZ: Majora's Mask, LoZ: Wind Waker, the original Legend of Zelda. FICTION. I think only one of those three makes the cut, and of course I've got my fingers crossed for MM. Final Fantasy 7 > Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. UNDECIDED. Assuming a 64-game bracket for all of these. FICTION: All three NRT-winners (Pokemon R/B/Y, Star Fox 64, and Donkey Kong Country 2) will be in the bracket. I really doubt DKC2 will be, and I think SF64 will be overlooked in a 64-game bracket in favor of other games. RBY is iffy since it wasn't in last one, but it definitely has the best shot of the three and I wouldn't be surprised to see it. FICTION: The Guru choice (SMW2: Yoshi's Island) will be in the bracket. Again, I think it'll get snubbed, especially in this new anti-Nintendo GameFAQs. FICTION: Two of the following three games will be in the bracket: FF8, FF9, FF12. 8 and 9 will be snubbed again, perhaps because of series limitations. I can see FF12 making it but not doing well. FACT: Two of the following three games will be in the bracket: LoZ: Majora's Mask, LoZ: Wind Waker, the original Legend of Zelda. LoZ's one of only three NES games that has a shot of returning (not counting potential newcomers like MM2), and I think Wind Waker might get enough Zelda noms to get in. Kinda skeptical, but I think it has a shot. Majora's Mask, no chance. FACT: Final Fantasy 7 > Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Even if it was a year or two ago when Nintendo was at its highest, I wouldn't take the upset. bracket's up the board will become bearable again and I can finally go

Fiction: DKC2 won't make it, SF64 has a good chance of making it, and it really depends on Pokemon R/B/Y The Guru choice (SMW2: Yoshi's Island) will be in the bracket. Fact: It should be able to make it. Two of the following three games will be in the bracket: FF8, FF9, FF12. Fiction: FF9 might get in, but not the other two. Two of the following three games will be in the bracket: LoZ: Majora's Mask, LoZ: Wind Waker, the original Legend of Zelda. Fact: I see Wind Waker and likely LOZ1 getting in, lol Majora's Mask Final Fantasy 7 > Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Fact: Provided that FFVII doesn't get a 3 seed or lower. We've had brackets come up the same day that noms were closed in the
past, but that was 3-4 years ago under CJay. I think SB has taken a

RE5 won't be in the bracket. No-one can have nommed it yet and putting
it in over a game we've nominated is against the spirit of nominating.
It won't have the Reader reviews, and MyGames scores and what not in
place to seed it for a start. What we can look forward to is RE4 being a MASSIVE presence as it gets a boost from people coming to the site for RE5 FAQS. --- IMO. |

hey TRE, do you have data on the last couple of periods between noms closing and brackets? Before Villans Contest - Usually same day but I don't have exact times right now. Villians - 4 hours CB4 - 6 days, 6.5 hours Series - 2 hours CB5 - 7 days, 22 hours Quotes - 2 years, 16 days, 1 hour and counting >_> CB6 - 3 hours CB7 - 21 hours Roughly 19.5 hours have passed since the BGE2 noms closed. --- Not even a spread of 105 points would allowed me to defeat FastFalcon05! Congrats on winning the Character Battle 7 Guru Contest! |

Whoa, he did this last Contest in only 21 hours? Impressive. I'd
imagine it will probably take a little longer to do it this time
though, since he has to pull in all the review info and then
