SMB3 (Easy one) MGS3 (MGS strength should dwarf those below) Halo 3 (Should be a bit weak but not as weak as the below) MP3 (Though it might have a small chance of upsetting Halo 3) Sonic 3 (I have my doubts about this game's strength) Warcraft 3 (It'd surprise people, hell, it may even be stronger than Sonic 3, but I'll err against) GH3 (It might have potential, but I kinda doubt it) MGS4 (I really think MGS4 and Brawl are very strong, thus #1) RE4 (Easily first or second, second in my case) SF4 (Biggest hype for a SF game in a long time and a recent release, so I think it'll have legs) CoD4 (People still play it despite WaW, held up well in last year's GotY, GameFAQs is shifting toward western games thanks to 360) GTA4 (The hype and inflated scores hurt the game, I imagine GTA3 and its spinoffs would even beat it) FF4 (Low end of the FF totem poll, I don't have much faith in it or any pre-FF6 game in the series) SO4 (This is a joke, right?) --- http://l33trappacat.blogspot.com/ |

I really hope Warcraft 3 makes it. It won't be as strong as Starcraft,

We really need the bracket.....tomorrow is the first monday of
March....about time. I'm not sure of the exact date, but I think we're
right around the 5th anniversary of the original BGE bracket....let's
start this contest on the 5th anniversary of that contest. Now I'm thinking that he might simply be waiting until the 5th
anniversary of the first BGE contest. And I feel that GTA4 is a flop

I think GTA4 will get in even if scores aren't involved with a game
getting in. If they are, it's a clear lock, but even if not I'm sure
plenty of casuals will still nominate it enough that it'd even get into
a 64-game bracket. But yeah, I definitely agree that the game will flop hard. In fact, I'd love to see Warcraft 3/GTA4 now just for the amusement factor. I wouldn't hesitate picking WC3 at all. --- http://l33trappacat.blogspot.com/ |

I wouldn't go as far as any GTA game. We've seen GTA 4 beat everything but Fallout 3, MGS4, and Brawl (but who'd expect it to beat those three anyway)? And San Andreas didn't do half bad in the century poll. GTA4 got absolutely massacred by Fallout 3, who got beaten comfortably
by both Brawl and MGS4, neither of which are going to be top 10 games.
GTA4 looked like complete ass, there's no getting around that. I'd take
San Andreas over 4 yeah, but with everything we've seen come out of the
series (or haven't seen, rather), I don't see how you can have

Yeah, GTA4 is between the Fallout 3's and the Gears of War 2's of the
contest world...it can win a match, but it's not going to cause major

I don't know, I think GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas could have
decent strength. Not enough to cause any crazy upsets, but I think they
could hold their own against a few notable titles. More credit than I'd

GTA4 withotu question would be the strongest GTA title. Those kinds of
games are all about recency... just look at how Tommy Vercetti used to

GTA4 may be the strongest GTA title now, but none of them are going to

Nah. SA would beat GTAIV, recency or not. But I'd agree that I don't
expect much out of any of the GTAs anymore - they won't be fodder, but
I don't have high hopes for them doing that well. That's one series

Recency or not, GTA:SA was GotY here while GTA4 disappointed beyond
belief. I know times have changed for GTA between those years, but
GTA:SA beat MGS3 and Halo 2 with ease while GTA4 lost 62-38 to FO3 and
is closer to L4D. Heck, compare GTA4's 17.33% to GTA:SA's 13.95% in
these two polls: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3358 http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2995 LFF or not, that's a huge change in caliber (how many games in the GotC-poll do you want to take FO3 over?) I also think it will do fair enough despite being older. Fans of the series will probably recognize GTA:SA as being the better of the two since that's what's apparently happening with SSBM/B, and the Top 100 List suggests recency isn't everything within that fanbase (though GTA:SA did the best of GTA's 3D-games, GTA3 also beat GTA:VC). --- Play Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation (1 and 2) for Gameboy Advance today |
