MGS4 is catching up- Brawl's lead is down to 45. MGS4 should have the
lead by the end of the power hour, putting it a little behind

Hmm...But Magus completely embarassing himself against Sandbag has to
have cost him a lot of respect. Especially after Sandbag proceeded to

Magus still broke 40% on Sonic. Would DK break 40% on Sonic? Well,
okay, considering how pathetic Sonic looked this year that 40% looks a
lot less impressive....in fact it looks down right bad, but still,
Luigi failed to break 40% on Sonic back in 2006. --- Link he come to town |

Oh, and CTDS may not even do that much. After all, while it's intended
to appeal to a new generation as well as those who were already fans of

I think it took MGS4 close to 5:00 AM to build a 1,000-vote lead, and
SSBB ended up losing by 970. If MGS4 doesn't start taking advantage of
its best time, it's going to be blown out by SSBB come day-time. Either way, Snake's getting GotY and even runner-up...can't complain there, KH! --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. How bad was it? ...I don't want to talk about it. |

I don't think MGS4 is gaining quite enough here to hold on. It should still be close though. --- FastFalcon and Solid Snake snapped my neck in the guru contest. |

Eh, I think RE4 gets a large majority of its popularity from the GC and
Wii voter base, so it would be fair to call it 6/8 games repping

we haven't really seen Magus go up against much lately; his last 1/1
match was with Knuckles while DK's was with... Master Chief. I suppose if Magus hasnt fallen off the map, sure, but it wouldnt be a blow out by any means.. I just wouldn't feel 100% confident in him. --- *is Dranze* Through fire, justice is served because FastFalcon05 owned my bracket. |

As for Zero, what happened? His last 1-on-1 match was a loss to Luigi.
He never showed any signs of being overrated, yet he lost to a
prefectly static Luigi. Then again, RPGuy96's theory might be the

Well, it looks like Brawl has this. Come on MGS4 do what Snake did
against Cloud and stall for hours with the ASV when you're supposed to
be getting pummeled. As for Magus/DK, no, it wouldn't be an easy win for Magus. But Magus has been always put up better performances than DK: equaling Ganon and Knuckles is a good deal up from anything DK has done. In 2007 Magus/DK probably would have been close. Now, with the Nintendo Deboost and CTDS out, I don't think Magus would face any real danger against DK. --- Link he come to town |

To answer my own question from last night, I would take Melee over
Brawl with much more confidence now- even though it looks like Brawl
will win this poll, Melee wouldn't struggle with MGS4 or Fallout 3. I
think it'd 60-40 MGS4 at a minimum, so Brawl would have to pull off the
largest case of rSFF ever- and from the looks of it, a lot of people on
this site just don't like Brawl. I'll take FFX and TP over Brawl also, because they should be stronger. SMW and SM64 I'm not sure about, but I'd definitely take either one over MGS4, so I'll take them over Brawl also. FFT did go even with MGS back in 2004, but that was in Snake's worst year, and FFT was much stronger back then, so I'll go with Brawl. I think very highly of the Legend of Zelda, but Brawl is a bad opponent- can't really see it winning many Zelda franchise votes against a modern game nearly everyone has at least played, if not owned. I would still take Zelda 1 over Mario World or 64. MGS4......I would still take to beat Brawl 1v1, even if it loses. I figure Fallout 3 has to overlap more with MGS, although I thought that about the 6 games from yesterday's field we lost today too. But they split fairly evenly between Brawl and MGS4, and FO3 is the only other PS3 game, so.....give me MGS4, without any confidence. --- Link he come to town |

Well....it looks like MGS4 is only going to have a lead of 100 or so
when the ASV hits. If it can even hold on for another half hour, that

So what's the best non Contest POTD: GOTY Final 2008 (Self Explanatory) GOTY Prelim 2002 (Metroid Prime pulls off a comeback with the day vote to conquer Vice City.) Who would you rather see in Brawl? (Sonic and Cloud duke it out, with Cloud scraping his way to a victory at the very end.) Which NES game would you most like to see on the Virtual Console? (4chan stuffs for Battletoads for *24 straight hours* while Final Fantasy pulls off not one but *two* thousand vote comebacks) --- FastFalcon owned me in the Guru Contest! |

Yes, you really have to hand it to Fallout 3 here- it's getting 30%
against the 2 most hyped games of the year, both of which come from
much much stronger series on this site, one of which was hyped to
challenge FFVII/OOT, and the other of which has one of the highest user

Also even though CoD4 got 32% last years in the final goty, I'd say
Fallout 3 here is more impressive. Galaxy just owned that poll and Halo

Of course Brawl is going to get wiped by Melee as far as indirect
strength goes (could you see it doing what Melee pretty much
singlehandedly did to the entire SMB series?), but 1v1 still worries me

1 on 1 Melee pastes Brawl worse than it does indirectly. Every Brawl
fan is a Melee fan (pretty much). Not every Melee fan is a Brawl fan,

...then again, it's probably pretty safe to say that the SSB
performance against SMB *had* to have been at least partially fueled by
that massive Brawl hype. No way in hell SSB puts up the kind of numbers
on MG that the Series Contest indicated (if it even wins at all), and

I'm still standing by it, MGS4 is the strongest game to come out since
2000. I said it could happen when Brawl was murdering Wii Fit. MGS4 was
made out to be one of the defining games of this generation, and it's
the only one that not only lived up to, but surpassed expectations. FFX
