| MGS4 is pulling away from Brawl now, and it's
still the Power Hour. It should be up by 1000 or more by morning,
considering how good SSB's early vote is and how utterly horrid its
night vote is. Don't think Brawl is going to make much noise until the
ASV- its morning vote is nothing special and its DSV is downright bad.
Then come afternoon we shall see......I *think* MGS4 has this one. --- Link he come to town |

MGS4 should have this. I still like Brawl in the real final though. PS3 fans have shown to be pretty loyal, but they're not all that numerous. I think Brawl squeaks out a win in the final. --- xyzzy "I hope you are this idiot only in the internet ^__^" -linkhatesganon |

Smash has the third best ASV behind KH and Halo (comparing Frog/Axel
and Magus/Sandbag, maybe it's right up there with them), but MGS4 would
need a day vote as bad as that of Magus to lose this. Also, I have a bold prediction: CT outright beats Crisis Core at the ASV to win their match (CT is leading by less than 50 votes right now....looks like CC really caught up in the late night). --- Link he come to town |

Again, why did Riku barely do anything to Leon with the ASV? From what
I've gathered, Resident Evil is terrible with the day vote, while
Kingdom Hearts is a day vote king. The fact that Riku barely hurt Leon
with the ASV doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Also, was Bowser worse

But as I remember it, I think Leon barely lost any percentage during
the day. That's what I mean by Riku barely hurting Leon with the ASV.

Don't try to remember it, just look at the graph. The bolded line is
the actual overall percentage each character had at that point during
the day. Yes, Leon's line takes a hit (but not a major one) once the

MGS4's lead is currently 1793. I seem to remember it being around 1900
earlier, so it looks like Brawl is making cuts with the ASV. It needs
to average 17.58 votes an update for the rest of the match to catch up. --- Link he come to town |

From tranny's topic: It's weird that the results could really be anything tomorrow...and the chance for excitement here isn't necessarily over, either. Sandbag was down 2,150 votes at 4:30 PM yet led by 398 at 9:50 PM (Magus started coming back after that) despite Sonic sharing the poll. Right now, SSBB is down 1,813 votes at 3:20 PM. "Too many options" is a concern, but Sandbag/Magus had 49.54% of the votes at 4:30 PM and SSBB/MGS4 has 45.66%...difference, yes, but considering the extra hour (of the ASV, at that) and 300+ votes less to overcome with nothing Nintendo-y in the way, that's not a deal-breaker either. I do think MGS4 has it won today though. That said, it also has a good chance at last place tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a LOT of fun. --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. Now SSBB's behind by 1809, with the last update actually being a gain
from MGS4. With a lead like this, even random stalls like that are
devastating, so count me surprised if SSBB ends up making this

SSBB cut around 63 votes off of MGS4 and increased it's lead over
Fallout 3 by 102 votes over the last 45 minutes. MGS4 should take first
with room to spare. --- Not even a spread of 197 points would allowed me to defeat FastFalcon05! Congrats on winning the Character Battle 7 Guru Contest! |

No, it doesn't. It needs to average under 20 votes an update. Even
assuming that Brawl has to be in the lead by 8 PM, when the ASV really
cools down, or else it won't finish the comeback or MGS4 will come back
in the last hour, the quota is still only 35.25. --- Link he come to town |

True, Magus choked hard. Crono, Frog, and CT's port have all done
relatively well in the past your with the ASV in comparison to what we
would usually expect from them years ago though, so Magus is...just

Oh yeah, and Chrono Trigger's lead on Crisis Core is now over 150.
There's still a few more hours in this ASV, but so far my prediction

Could Leon have actually gotten a day vote? And if so, how? And I'm
sure Donkey Kong, in addition to being Nintendo's biggest choker, is
probably the biggest choke artist of the GameFAQs Character Battles.
Although I wonder...Could he possibly blow a match to Magus? And WTF at
BUB almost breaking 40% on DK. You'd think a Nintendo icon would be

And I, too, have confidence in removing options from this poll for MGS4
(surprise surprise). I mean... look at the games that are in this poll.
Aside from CT, I would think every single one has a fanbase more
similar to MGS's than to Brawl's. The only real limiting factor on MGS4
is how large its fanbase actually is, because there's no question that
the game is more beloved by its fanbase. If there's anything I'd be worried about, it'd be Fallout 3. Multiplatform games tend to have a lot of overlap, and there's lots of genre similarity as well (it's not just an RPG, it's an FPS!). --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

FO3 could make a scene tomorrow, yeah. There can be a game for any game
coming in any position tomorrow, and that's pretty awesome for a
GotY-poll. | Well, SSBB is now closer to MGS4 than FO3 again,
and it will probably only look better for SSBB from here onward today.
Looking good for SSBB tomorrow in that regard. I'm going to make a BOLD prediction and say MGS4 gets last place tomorrow. MGS4 is already getting ~65% of the PS3-support, and it will have to fight FO3 for whatever's left of the ~35% (that FO3 hasn't already taken today, to boot, not to mention any little bit SSBB steals). That should allow SSBB enough room to get another 1,500+ votes on MGS4 pretty easily due to the Wii-ownership and high play-rate. FO3 getting second (or even first) place would be the big upset then, which already becomes pretty feasible once you remove WoW:WotLK and Gears 2; I would think FO3 gets the lion's share of the votes left behind from the PC/360 GotYs. Removing other RPGs like CT and CC:FF7 can't hurt its cause either. Pretty much, the PS3 saves and kills MGS4's chances of GotY; it has been very much behind MGS4, but it is difficult to get votes outside of it. For MGS4 to get 30%, MGS4 needs ~82% of the PS3-support here. ~65% is great, but that's one thing...82% is another. Furthermore, getting 30% means it CANNOT get first place and is not guaranteed second place; it will take at least 33.34% to have a shot for first. I have a lot more faith in FO3 increasing its numbers to 30+% than MGS4 SSBB > FO3 > MGS4 --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge.
