Even if we want to blame DK's loss on Tails... look at the margin of
his loss. He was CLOSER to Tails than he was to Tidus, and in terms of
straight Tidus/DK votes the FFX lead had nearly 60% of the share! I
like to give the Ninty/Sega relationship as much credit as I can, but

Marcus had three matches in a row last year where he looked *much*
better than he did this year. Either Gears has fallen off the face of
the earth, or 2k8 was a fluke - I'd put money on the latter. Besides, the simplest explanation is easy - how often do you get to see STF in play like it was in Rydia's match? I really don't buy Rydia being able to beat Kefka or Ocelot, yet going
by her beating Marcus would show her at that strength. I just think

Marcus was casual bait, nothing more. he won that first match out of
being the one people recognized. his r2 and 3 matches weren't
impressive at all, really, it was just that he was the most independent
in a group where Cloud sucked up almost all the votes. last year, Marcus had a bigger casual draw that just overwhelmed him. so he sucked. it's really not any deeper than that. --- xyzzy |

Eh, comparatively you've got to give the nod that even his worst
performances from 2k7 were well above what he did in 2k8. 22% or

Hmm...That might be it. He got an unlucky draw this past contest.
Getting stuck with 3 badasses would make anyone cute, like Rydia, stand
out and overperform like hell. And again, how is Leon's day vote?
Considering Kingdom Hearts has one of ther best day votes, the fact
that Riku barely dented Leon with the ASV is surprising. Then again, he
doesn't show up in KH2 until near the end of the game, which might be
