Is it really not up to sales expectations? It's sold better than Wild
World did at its launch... and that game has gone on to sell over 10

Update! * Chrono Trigger - 27.70% on DS poll, 20127 votes (of 72651 total) * WoW: WotLK - 36.83% on PC poll, 22383 votes (of 60780 total) * Persona 4 - 44.53% on PS2 poll, 21612 votes (of 48534 total) * MGS4 - 53.56% on PS3 poll, 39796 votes (of 74297 total) * Crisis Core - 51.04% on PSP poll, 29476 votes (of 57756 total) * Brawl - 58.28% on Wii poll, ? votes (of ? total) Not an overwhelming showing for Crisis Core, but still, that was solid. It had no trouble pulling down plenty more votes than the other three, but on the other hand its competition was so weak that this poll was less popular than one featuring (basically) only WoW and Spore. This sets up a very interesting battle neat the bottom of the ranks... WoW figures to have the most dedicated fanbase, but P4 supporters are pretty hardcore as well so maybe it can keep it close. CC gets to pull down the Final Fantasy advantage, which might be enough to make all the difference, because even though CT has very powerful name recognition of its own, being a port going up against so many other good options is sure to hold it way back. As for the battle for the overall GotY, well... I'd have to agree that Brawl has pretty much salted it away with this performance. Given the stronger competition I wasn't even sure that Brawl was going to match MGS4's percentage from the other day- then when I saw that the well-loved Okami had been added to the mix as well, I felt pretty confident in a percentage win for MGS. Instead, heck, it's not even going to be close! All that's left to see is if the ASV carries SSB to even greater heights. --- thengamer.com/guru/ says we just got owned hard by FastFalcon! I mean maybe if you look at pure numbers it looks like animal crossing
has sold well, but you gotta put alot of factors into place. Like as a
kotaku regular theres been a few articles there about Animal Crossing

First month sales hardly matter for a game like Animal Crossing. Its
success or failure will be judged on whether it, like Wii Play/Wii
Fit/Mario Kart Wii, is on the top ten sales lists several months (or
years, in Wii Play's case) after its release. --- RPGuy on Windows (augh) |

Why? It was nintendos biggest holiday title for the wii, it was also
their most marketed, so its not too much to ask for to want big sales

Actually, this is much easier to compare... http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2988 ...I dunno how much better MKW/NMH is than MP3/RE4:Wii, and I would take FE:RD over ToS2. SSBB/SMG may actually be more comparable afterall...though I'm definitely taking SSBB there. --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. Animal Crossing is one of those series where people will buy them, but
it won't be their favourite game of the system. Also Brawl SFF is
pretty much killing any hope for any Nintendo title. I believe Mario

GG MGS4. Seriously, everything from Animal Crossing and above would probably beat LittleBig Planet. Maybe even Okami and ToS2, but likely not. Brawl might even have a shot at surpassing FFVII and OoT in the games contest judging by this. Yeah, the only real SFF target in this poll is Mario Kart Wii, MAYBE
Animal Crossing. Everything else is no more likely to get SFF'd than
MGS4's competition. And even then there's the enormous difference in

Not really "haha". LittleBig Planet, for all its acclaim, was a
commercial flop considering the hype and expectancies. Kind of a shame
really. Maybe ToS2 is pushing, but I can't see it having any legitimate strength. It only did as well as it did because other than MGS4, the only other worthwhile game sold about 50, 000 copies total. Yeah, but my point is that ToS isn't getting SFF'd by Brawl anymore than MGS4 SFF'd Resistance. We shall see. Let's wait until the final poll. Also, Wii has had quite a few great games this year. There will probably be a good 10-15% between Brawl and MGS4 in the
final poll, which speaks more about the difference in ownership between
the PS3 and Wii than anything else. Doesn't really say anything about

Yeah, and Brawl doesn't look as amazing when you consider that Galaxy
got the same percentage in last year's Wii poll. It's really hard the
gauge the strength of the field here, but I wouldn't be worried about
FFVII or OOT even if Brawl doubles MGS4. --- Link he come to town |

Aww, ToS2 and Okami both did fall back off near the end. When I last
saw the poll, Okami was at 6.76% and ToS2 was at 6.59%. Didn't expect

It was over 58% and still rising soon after the NPH leaving us to believe that 60% might be possible with the ASV, but instead it took a deep hit overnight to fall back to the low 56s. The ASV was very kind, as we'd expected, but even so it came up a little short of 58. In any case the game had zero trouble topping MGS4 in every regard, and in addition this was quite easily the most popular poll so far this year... everything appears to be lined up for a fairly easy GotY win for Brawl. Gears is impressing me so far, as I'd have expected Fable to put up a better fight than this. On the other hand, Fable's having to deal with RPG LFF from some fairly decent competition in Vesperia and LO so this result isn't really all that surprising. The stranger thing is that Gears has been able to run wild as the only shooter option on a console that loves its shooters... guess all the other options just went multi-platform this year. --- thengamer.com/guru/ says we just got owned hard by FastFalcon!
