CTDS probably won't do that much for either Chrono Trigger or Crono.
Leon's got the right idea that 5% is the absolute maximum that it could
do, and even then, that's not too likely to happen. CTDS's problem has
always been that most people who were buying it already consider it one
of their favorite games. There's a few new people buying it, but
nothing all that significant. It wasn't even in the top 10 DS games for November, which probably puts it out of the top 30 overall and not even at 100k. It'll do more than that by the end, but yeah. No reason to think CTDS is bringing in all these new players - and definitely no reason to expect it to outdo what Kingdom Hearts did for Cloud. --- Enough expository banter! Now we fight like men. My one problem with CTDS is that it really wasn't marketed much. IF
Nintendo marketed it as teh biggest DS game of the holiday season and
alot of people who weren't already CT fans bought it, it could of done
alot. But there was erally no marketing so only people that really knew

Something I noticed about the console polls. With the exception of the
PS3 poll, the percentage of people stating last year "I've had mine
since before Christmas" and the percentage of people stating this year
"I've had mine for over a year is the same." as if they don't know that
last Christmas was clearly over a year ago. Is this a case of PS3
owners being the only ones who are able to count time or is there
something else there? The discrepancy also shows up in the polls around
Thanksgiving, where everyone besides PS3 owners incorrectly includes
their X-Mas purchases as something they bought *this* year, when the
poll is clearly referring to the calendar and not the chronological

They won't be in a position where they're competing with each other for first place in a poll. While you're right that WotLK will beat Spore, I doubt Spore does as bad as Crysis last year and it doesn't seem like this expansion should be much different for WoW here compared to the last one. --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. You should see WotLK beat down Spore in the overall-poll this year, though expect both to have low percentages and Spore to do better than Crysis (which isn't hard; it was nearly tripled). --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. I posted this in tranny's GotY-predictions topic, but I'll repost it here and add some links for fun: Is there any chance a game upsets Mario Kart Wii for runner-up in the Wii-GotY? We saw SSBB tear its world to pieces earlier this year... http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3150 ...and most of the other games differ from that party-multi-player genre and came out much closer to Christmas than MKW. AC:CF comes to mind, specifically...and laugh if you like, but the original AC beat SMS when Metroid Prime won GotY in 2002. http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=1128 I know SMS was pretty ridiculed...but I dunno how willing I would take MKW over it, SSBB kills MP, and AC:CF came out closer to Christmas than AC. I'm certain it gets in -- how many games did the Wii really have this
year that probably make it into the poll? SSBB, MKW, Wii Fit, AC:CF,
Wii Music...what other near-guarantees are there this year? Let's not
forget Nintendo REALLY tried to sell us on it at E3, too, so getting
into the poll isn't going to be its toughest situation. It'll probably suck though, yeah -- I was just trying to think about what else Nintendo's hyped this year. Wii Fit should beat it cleanly...which may be fun to see face off with Animal Crossing, haha. --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. No More Heroes and Okami might get in for Wii. NMH might do pretty

Ugh. What will be in the PC poll? Spore, Sins of the Solar Empire, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky...and then what? I would absolutely love if Limbo of the Lost (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limbo_of_the_Lost) made it in just for the lulz, but who knows if Bacon's ever heard of it. I was gonna bring up Passage (http://kotaku.com/gaming/timewaster/weird-artistic-timewaster-of-the-day-passage-328926.php), but that was apparently released last year, and it doesn't even have a page up on GameFAQS. --- FastFalcon owned me in the Guru Contest! |

Also according to Gamerankings, Wii music is the 35th best Wii game

Interesting that TWEWY is doing so well. Neku should have done a little
better I would guess if this is the case, although maybe him and Sho
were held back by 4th place factor/being in the poll with other RPG

Whoa, CT only up 7.5% on TWEWY? Surely this is... ack, can't come up
with much of an excuse for this showing. Well, maybe CT and FF4 hurt
each other quite a bit while only holding TWE back a little. Also, what a bad showing for Kirby. I mean I think we've known for a while that the guy draws most of his support from his cute design and being a popular choice in SSB, but to top Sonic and then only manage this from his most popular game? With all of the other top choices being RPGs I honestly thought KSS might stand out enough to challenge for 2nd. --- thengamer.com/guru/ says we just got owned hard by FastFalcon! But yeah, that kirby DS game is actually the lowest review score wise
of all the games in the poll. So its really not that great of a game
outside of just kirby fans really, so I didn't expect it to light up

Kirby for DS though was a bad port WRONG Well, you're saying that's what the reviews said. The reviews are stupid. And TWEWY being 2nd here is surprising me, especially with as much as it has. I'm certain CT and FFIV are LFFing each other, and TWEWY is being relatively unaffected because, honestly, it's not immediately associated with Square. Plus, Old School Square and New School Square don't affect one another, as past polls have continually shown. Also, what a bad showing for Kirby. Don't ports usually not do well in these polls? LttP and SMB3's ports
did relatively poorly IIRC, despite selling a lot more than CT and
FFIV's. --- All the stars in the sky are waiting for you. |

Yeah, ports in general don't do as well as the games themselves. If
this was TWEWY going against CT and FFIV in a fourway poll, I'd expect
