Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them. X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process. rSFF (Reverse Same Fanbase Factor): An unproven theory that states that an SFF match will feature the expected weaker character receiving more benefit from SFF than the stronger character. For example, all evidence supports Samus being indirectly stronger than Mario, yet Mario blew Samus away during their 2005 match. That's rSFF in action, and the one case we have of the weaker statistical character winning with it. For other information, surf the contest sites a bit. | FFVIII will NOT miss the contest unless there's a
cap or the nominations never make it to the front page. Even with the
Games Contest nomination greatly favoring FFVII (because you could only

I'm thinking FF8 is going to disappoint (relatively, it'll still be

OoT and LttP will destroy any Mario game (aside from maybe LttP against
Mario 3, I think it'd be close). The rest...They're beatable by at
least one Mario game. I just have a hard time seeing Mario World or
Mario 64 lose to Metroid Prime, so at the very least, they can beat the
Wind Waker. Zelda 1 wouldn't be that far ahead of either one, I reckon.

Yeah, it's not entirely fair to throw all the Zeldas into the same
basket. OoT/LttP/TP are a cut above the rest, and I think that the top
Mario games (Galaxy/3/World/64/1) would be somewhat closer together

case, I think. I have never been a big fan of Mario himself, but I love

I'll take LTTP over Mario 3 definitely, although SMB3's chances are not
quite zero. Not going to take any Nintendo game other than OOT over

I like SM64 > SMW as top two, SMB > Zelda 1, and MM in last. WW
