And why are you so high on Warcraft? There's a difference between SC
and WoW, you know. Warcraft is hated on GameFAQs, while Starcraft is
loved. When you're as hated as Warcraft is, it doesn't take a very

In terms of half divisions, you have: Ocarina midcarder mess TP/Galaxy/MGS FFX/Mario 3 CT/LttP Brawl/Mario 64/FFVI midcarder mess 2 FFVII/Melee What I would suggest is putting Melee in with FFX and Mario 3. I have no idea what the Pokemon consensus is but it's probably a good match for the Yoshi's Island/Half-Life 2 winner. Melee is probably a good fit for FFX and Mario 3; I imagine Mario 3 would be the favourite between the two and Mario 3/Melee was the original debated match. TP/Galaxy/MGS vs FFX/Mario 3/Melee is not obvious to me, and while that's a lot of Nintendo going against Ocarina next round it hardly matters because Ocarina is going to crush whatever it faces anyway. Playing with the seeding a bit: 6 - Final Fantasy X 11 - Earthbound 3 - Super Smash Bros. Melee 14 - Fable 2 7 - Tales of Symphonia 10 - Okami 2 - Super Mario Bros. 3 15 - Kingdom Hearts 2 ~~ 6 - Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island 11 - Half-Life 2 3 - Pokemon Red 14 - Guitar Hero 2 7 - LittleBigPlanet 10 - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 2 - Final Fantasy VII 15 - Left 4 Dead I think the seeding is mostly justified (Yoshi's Island and RBY have pretty big board rallies), though FFX is probably too low. --- Mustache...and FastFalcon... |

another option would be to move Galaxy out of there completely so as to
line up some seeds. maybe put it into Ocarina's division alongside RE4,
give Melee the 1 seed and drop FFX to the 3? we'd have to move a few
more things but Galaxy/RE4/MGS3/KH could be good. we could throw World of Warcraft into the TP division too -- I always felt that Starcraft got stronger as the contest went on, and if it keeps rolling we could see a real powerhouse by rounds 3 or 4. giving it Ocarina is just too much though. --- xyzzy blah blah blah Fastfalcon blah blah blah Solid Snake blah blah blah Guru Contest blah |

I like it. I'd actually be a little more ambitious for Pokemon RBY- I'd
switch its 2-pack with Metroid Prime's. That gives RBY an opportunity
to take down Majora's Mask and MGS4/SMRPG. It does give us Super
Metroid vs. Metroid Prime, but that's an SFF match that would be

Devil May Cry being Galaxy food is not cool tran! Also Diablo 2.. especially
Diablo 2. Give that thing the right pack and it could outdo Starcraft!
Actually, I'm vaguely considering the D2 > Mario 64 upset anyway. Division 2 is by far my favorite. Several possible division winners... not a single undebatable match of the bunch. Even friggin ToS is in a debatable match! Division 4... I think the lack of the paired Pokemon games hamstrings their support. Oh, and there's no possible way that FF7 does not get the overall first
seed. The only way it's not listed first is if Bacon moves it down to a

I remember after people actually played TP, alot of people thought the
8.8 was deserving. It seemed like a real let down overall from hearing

I understand why FFVIII was snubbed in that bracket, but once noms are
opened to the public it's a shoo-in. I think it's safe to say that any
series cap will definitely affect Tactics or IX before VIII. --- Mustache...and FastFalcon... |

Yeah, OOT should get the overall #1 seed thanks to the reviews/ratings.
Now that I think of it, I'd like to switch division 2 and 3. I'd rather
see CT face OOT than FFVII, and I'd rather see SSBM/SMB3/Starcraft face
FFVII than OOT. On the off chance that Starcraft can pull another
miracle run and make it to the final four this time, after seeing just
how powerful bandwagons are the past 2 years, I want it to get its
match against FFVII- the one we were all dreading and trying to

No, it's not, but honestly I'd rather see LTTP face OOT than FFVII
also, for some reason. And I'd really prefer SSBM/SMB3 to go out

re: FF8/FF9, I see them as being not *that* far apart and had to pick
one, so I went with the board fave. I did the same with Mario 64/World

FFVIII fans have so far not given me faith in their dedication to the game. FFIX has had Zidane, Vivi, and Kuja getting in. FFVIII has Squall. There's reasons as to that, but still. BTW, I think FFT slips past the series cap before either of them, even though it would be weaker in a matchup. It managed to get into the Games Contest despite FF7 hogging up PS1 nominations. --- FastFalcon believed in Snake. I didn't. |

If you read the fine print, FFT (and TA) were considered a separate
series, and only one game per series per generation was allowed. That
explains the two of them over, say, FFVIII/IX or Majora's Mask. --- Mustache...and FastFalcon... |

FF10 beats FF6. I'm still surprised people are arguing that it belongs
in the Mario 3 / CT / LTTP class - it's a tier below that, and I think
