It always seemed so strange to me that FFVI managed 47% on LTTP when
its characters are so weak. For what it's worth it did badly relative

franchise voting is a wonderful thing. FF6 isn't weak or anything, but it's not crazy strong either. I'd expect to see it around the Mario 64 / Metal Gear Solid level or something. But their matches against LTTP imply FFVI is only a little weaker than
CT, and Magus and Frog are considerably stronger than any FFVI
character, so I don't feel the ensemble cast quite explains it. Sure,
you wouldn't expect any one FFVI character to have strength approaching

I'm pretty sure 6 and 10 are even in strength independently, but I'd

But FF6 really doesn't have any standout
characters. Chrono Trigger characters are beloved, because it's a very
character-driven game; FF6 is not. I think it'd be below FFX, and I think probably below FF8 at this point too - although FF6 would've been stronger back in the day, I think FF8 is either equal to it now or just above it. But not too far apart. --- Save_Us.RAT BREAK THE BLOCK DOWN |

Has SB replied to anyone else's feedback ticket yet? I saw that he
confirmed Pokemon games being rolled into one by generation for KP, but

Does anyone know if Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War are considered

This site has a sickening SNES bias. I dunno; I think "had" is more accurate, and we don't know what it's like at this point. the SNES is 17 or 18 years old now - high school kids don't have the same feelings attached to it anymore. FF10 was pretty much *the* PS2 game for this site, which is the most popular console of the last 15 years. Anyone else think there's an extremely high chance that FF7 doesn't win this thing? This site seems to have really grown even more vehemently anti-FF7 since then, as hard as that is. And even though such stuff matters less in a legit, non-4way format, it could still swing 2-4 percentage points in a finals matchup from "real" strength. Only problem is that outside of Ocarina of Time, there really isn't much that actually has the strength to beat it. Maybe Super Mario Bros. 3? I think SMB3 would do better head to head against FF7 than ye olde ancient x-stats from Spring 2K4 (i.e. pre-historic times; those x-stats should practically be considered fossilized) would imply. Although again, it's pretty hard to see it actually beating FF7, because it isn't OoT. And I actually think OoT hasn't held up as well as FF7. --- Save_Us.RAT BREAK THE BLOCK DOWN |

I see no reason to put it significantly above Wind Waker besides the
fact that it's Ocarina's sequel - therefore more people played it.

Somehow I have difficulty seeing WW put 43% on SMB3. Zelda 1 is still
the second highest selling Zelda game too. As for MM > TP, I dunno,
but it seems like MM has a lot of fans while there is a lot of apathy

Yeah, I saw people saying they were sending tickets to ask about stuff
like if ports/remakes would be rolled together for both noms and review
score, or if the same would be happening for things like expansion

Question that prolly is better asked in this topic: What potential Game Contest match-up would you like to see the most? Personally, I'm intrigued in seeing Super Mario Galaxy go against Metal Gear Solid 4, my personal picks for both Game of the Year of 2007 and 2008. OoT has a realistic shot at beating FF7. Nothing else does.The two are
simply far above anything else, and it would years of dominance to stir

kids don't have the same feelings attached to it anymore. Absolutely. That's why I'm sure FF8 is stronger relative to FF6 than whatever it was back in the day. Whether that's enough to put it equal or above to FF6 I'm not sure, but they're not going to be too far apart now. And whereas back in the day, FF6 would SFF FF8 very heavily heads-up, you almost certainly wouldn't see that now. The PSX generation now is what the SNES generation used to be, in terms of aging. Looking at the trends in FFVII/SSBM and FFVII/CT leads me to think that this did in fact happen last time: CT and SSBM's trends both looked like those of entires being bandwagoned against the favorite to win the contest. i wouldnt doubt that the site had no more snes bias. didnt we get an

And I actually think OoT hasn't held up as well as FF7. I think this is the opposite, as far as how well regarded both are. You still see Ocarina called the 'best game of all-time' all over the place. Its been spread around so many times, across so many different systems the past 10 years that it's managed to be remain as big as it is today. Going from the "how old are you" polls the median age of Gamefaqs
consistently rises every year, but the median birthday also moves
forward in time (that is, the median age is increasing at a slower pace
