I'm impressed as hell by Tyler Durden and "The Dude." Also, Buzz
Lightyear was snubbed! Bond's disappointing there though, yeah, but I
think Bond would hold up better in a video game site due to how classic
Goldeneye was on the N64. I would expect him to do better here in
comparison to the other characters than at IMDb...but still, not too
hot for him. I also figure the Joker will drop, but...that's a pretty dominating lead. TDK should be rereleased in theatres, the Oscars should be coming up soon where Heath will be even more etched into history with his performance as the Joker, and I can't remember the last time a Halloween costume became so popular. Not only that, but this year saw an already mega-classic character and reformed him into a definitive image that may stand the test of time and makes most past incarnations seem ill-directed... ...I hate to be on that hype-train, but we've already easily seen the worst of TDK-hype at IMDb anyway when TDK hit #1 on the Top 250 movies while it was still in theaters...and the Joker's still beating Darth Vader by 2.5%. I know they collectively only take 16.5% of the poll and I still expect the Joker to drop, but that's still VERY impressive to be winning with such a lead against such big names. --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. How bad was it? ...I don't want to talk about it. |

Er...crap, I see Han in the poll now. Bah...still think the Joker wins
this poll if you remove Han (the two together are 10.2%; Joker got
9.5%), but in the long run or in a more normal poll Vader's due to win. --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. How bad was it? ...I don't want to talk about it. |

Yeah, Fight Club and Lebowski are long time imdb faves that I wouldn't
see doing anything outside of that film fanatic environment. That being
said, they still pounded The Godfather at a site where he has been #1
for years and years, so maybe they'd have more kick than I think. Agreed with you there HaR... even in a bracket with Vader/Yoda/Indy/Bond/Jack Sparrow I could see Joker going all the way if the polls happened soon enough to be effected by Oscar hype. Give it a few months to cool off though and I think we'd be comfortably back to someone else winning. --- thengamer.com/guru/ says we just got owned hard by FastFalcon! I'd take the video game character for every matchup except for Bond, as
I'm pretty sure anti-votes combined with Halo not comparing favorably
to GE would do him in. Which is why I don't want to see a "mixed"
bracket at any point- just seems like results would be too heavily
favored towards game characters due to our 7 year history of supporting
them in polls, which would skew the results unfairly. And uhhh Yoshi > Liquid because the others would split the non-game vote probably pretty close to equal. --- thengamer.com/guru/ says we just got owned hard by FastFalcon! (thengamer.com/xstats & board8.wikia.com are neat) |

I agree that there would be some favoritism toward video game
characters, but not necessarily because of the history of the polls
here. I would think it would be more of a "When in Rome..." effect; I
would think video game characters would get the benefit of the doubt
from practically everybody who is evenly torn in polls, considering
we're at GameFAQs...regardless of the past contests. It works about the same either way though. --- FastFalcon05 absolutely decimated me in the Guru challenge. How bad was it? ...I don't want to talk about it. |

Why is James Bond doing so poorly that surprising? He's really not as
popular as people think. At least not anymore. He'd be relying on old
school Sean Connery votes more than anything else! And I doubt he'd do much better here. Remember when I did that NCAA Character Battle with all fictional characters allowed? Bond was average at best. James Bond would probably hold up a lot better on GameFAQS due to
GoldenEye. Probably one of the lower rungs on the Noble Nine of
Fictional Characters. But then again, I've always had doubts about
Darth Vader. He's definitely up there but I would never take him to
come close to Batman or Spiderman. Oh, and to go back to something from a couple days ago, I call complete BS on Crisis Core completely boosting PSP ownership on GameFAQS. The game had been out for almost *three months* when that poll was taken in June that had it around 36% (a boost of around 3% from a year before). The new design that was released in October boosted it over the top I guess, but regardless nothing in the numbers suggests Crisis Core had some dramatic effect. --- FastFalcon owned me in the Guru Contest! |

Well, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, and Quantum of Solace are by far the most popular bond movies ever, so it might be expected that Bond should be more popular than ever. Firefox can block ads and I love contests, so bring on the revenue! Looking at the NRT and Guru it seems like we're in for a lot of
Nintendo games, unless here is some kind of caps and while I don't want

None. It would be a complete waste of space because we already know
dozens (if not hundreds) of deserving games will be snubbed. And unless
Big Rigs or Superman 64 drew some ultra-obscure Japanese game in Round
