Heh, I just realized that this contest will be the first sign of how
much CTDS helps. If Trigger stays as strong as it was in 2004, then

FF9's got that many? hm. I dunno about that. they're probably not far off, but I think MM2's a
little stronger. far more classic and timeless and whatnot. VC release

FF9 has that many because this is the one board on GameFAQs - and
possibly the entire internet - where FF9 is in the running for the most

I might have to stand corrected. It looks like MM2 edges out X in
lifetime sales when I thought it was the other way around. Still, I
think X's presence on the much stronger system and its role as the
start of the preferred series would win the day. I think Super Mario is

I wonder why VIII isn't that popular around here. It's done pretty well
in those "favorite Final Fantasy game" polls, especially when
considering that it's (I'm guessing) the most likely candidate to get

I was going to use a Mario 3/World comparison for 2 and X -- X adds
improvements much like World did, but people just prefer the classic
game. I don't want to fight that fight though. FF8 is REALLY love-hate. for example, it's the only FF title I actively dislike and I've been playing them since the first one came out. that leads to lots of support in multi-way polls like that. some people really like it, some people really hate it. there's not usually a middle ground there. --- xyzzy blah blah blah Fastfalcon blah blah blah Solid Snake blah blah blah Guru Contest blah |

You people can keep thinking anything will beat FFVII! Hey, Bacon said he wants to find the legitimately best game! That means no 4 ways, right? After all, that's not a credible format! FFVIII will get plenty of nominations. I think someone said it would've been a 3 or 4 seed in the Games Contest if it hadn't been for the cap. Seriously, more nominations than any 32/64 game besides FFVII, OoT, and maybe GoldenEye? Does anyone here know which feedback I should use to ask Goose about a
nomination question? Namely, whether Skee-Ball are going to be
considered a joke nomination, or even allowed as it's under Redemption

Super Mario All-Stars / Super Mario World Mega Man Anniversary Collection The Orange Box Think he'll let game collections in? I'm not sure if Mega Man Anniversary Collection or The Orange Box would do as well as the games in it, but Super Mario All-Stars / Super Mario World should be as strong ot stronger than Super Mario World since it at least has Super Mario World in the title. --- Not even a spread of 105 points would allowed me to defeat FastFalcon05! Stats don't go down permanently for using magic in FFVIII. You can raise them back up by getting a stock of the spells. But yeah, the battle system is a large part of why FFVIII is so love/hate. I might take WoW over Twilight
Princess... it's very tough to gauge that match(oh god please set this

StarCraft beating the Wind Waker is a completely different thing from
World of Warcraft beating Twilight Princess. I just couldn't see the

Waker, couldn't WoW beat Twilight Princess? Compared to its hype Twilight Princess wasn't as well received, but it'll still be one of the top games in the contest. It's not too different from Brawl - hype through the roof, disappointment when that hype isn't met. like you know, a well thought out story.... good characters... stuff like that. =P Nah, they kept that stuff intact and then some! Well, except for the villain part, but that's negligible. But if you like Squall or Laguna, chances are good you'll like the game.
