BT's top 10 contest stars! 10. Sora Sure it wasn't on the level of his 2006 match on Mega Man, but Sora looked really good this year coming as close to Squall as he did. I think he showed that 2006 wasn't a fluke, and when Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out, I think we might have someone to join the elite ranks. 9. Zack Some people would probably rate him higher, but you have to remember that his competition was turbofodder until the quarter finals, and even there he had 3-way Nintendo SFF making him look golden. Nonetheless, he came out and showed us that he's a strong midcarder, probably in the area of Kratos or so, about the realistic peak I gave him pre-contest. 8. Mega Man X Similar to Zack, his performances are somewhat tarnished by the fact that Mario was being held back, but he still went even with the plumber twice before folding under Link's might. Definitely deserves a shot next year as well. 7. Auron Not only did he beat Sonic, but he beat the PISS out of Sonic, and didn't look too shabby even with Sephiroth in the poll. I'd definitely consider him at Squall/Vincent's levels, and he would probably reverse his result against 2005 Ganon. 6. Liquid Snake Not much to say here. He looked great in all of his matches this year, SFF or not. 5. Squall He's really cemented himself in my mind as the strongest non Noble character with his absolute beating of Yoshi, and him standing up a big better against Cloud this year. Had that division final been Yoshi/Squall/Mewtwo/Cloud like I thought, Squall could very well have walked out of that match in second place, a far cry from his last time seeing Cloud. 4. Big Boss I wasn't going to put him on here, but the Kirby went above and beyond all expectations and made Big Boss look stronger than Cloud. I'm not sure what happened between 2005 and now, but Big Boss seems to have caught lightning in a can and it will be great to see what he can do next year. 3. Pikachu Once again Pikachu goes above and beyond all expections not once, but twice. Obviously his victory over L-block, and percentage against Crono in that match were very impressive, but even more impressive to me was how well he held up the next round with Samus/Crono/Vincent. Not only did he seem to avoid an SFF beatdown, but he managed to look pretty respectable against all his opponents. Well done. 2. Solid Snake I'm not sure how much I trust today's result, seeing as how it makes it look like Crono has more overlap with Cloud than Sephiroth does, but you can't argue that Snake rose to the occasion and completely decimated his competition all contest. He probably WOULD have beat Mega Man even with Solid ****. 1. Kirby Probably one of the best contest runs of all time, Kirby placed second in a match he should have had no business placing second in, and he led Cloud for almost an entire hour. That has to count for something, Sephiroth or not. I'd love to see where the dum pink ball sits in a 1v1 setting now. I'd probably take him over some of the people I had him equal with prior to the contest. --- I want adventure in the great wide somewhere... This match will probably get around the same number of votes as most of
the other matches this contest. I guess this could be a sign that

What an hour from Cloud there: 367 votes from 9 to 10. He looks good to
cut Snake's lead under 2000 before we're done here. Meanwhile, Link is
going for a lead of 9000- he may or may not make it depending on how

man... can't believe I missed the entire final match... one that
actually didn't feature a combo of Link and Cloud 1st and 2nd. darn you
hospital I guess being "Not Link" or "Not Cloud" is enough to get you a ton of votes these days. Oh you crazy people. If anyone is still saying 1v1's would be predictable after this.... well let's just say they should be put to death, and their corpses mocked by school children for the rest of eternity. --- all hail ec your lord and savior |

it's hard to believe someone can run up a 3600 vote lead and then lose
1500 of it... the day after they lost 300 votes to the same person
during the same time period. there's only two matches I can think of
with a vote shift like Link/Snake: Kuja/Master Hand and Kefka/Marcus

of votes these days. Oh you crazy people. If anyone is still saying
1v1's would be predictable after this.... You know, this might be right. If the common theory is that Pikachu's so much worse in 1v1 because of antivotes, and Link nearly got antivoted to death in a 4-way... Of course, the whole thing gets shot to hell if the anti-votes turn out to have a ceiling of 10000 or so. (Why would all those voters go with Snake over Crono? Uhhh...) |

| I'm trying to do get the x-stats prepared for once
this match ends and I'm noticing that divisions 3 and 4 are going to
look bad in comparison to the rest of the bracket. Using Crono this
round puts him below Zelda and we get things like Marth > Ganondorf.
Other than Crono against Link last round all I have to go with is Samus
based against Mario using his stats against round 4 Link. I think
