God, I can't even imagine the awesomeness factor of Solid Snake winning
this thing. After being the undeserved weak link of the noble nine for
so long (indisputably the best character out of the other eight,

think I may revisit it for the first time since the Games contest years
ago! Damn you Starcraft for ruining my perfect bracket! An enjoyable contest, yet again. Some results that made me cry inside, but otherwise another successful contest season. Having a real job makes it darn near impossible to be active in this topic anymore, but I do miss debating with everyone, and with any luck, I should have a new job in the next couple months and get about 600 hours back a year of work, which works out to be, like, 10 hours more a week of free time! --- 128 character battle royale? On the other hand, Crono looks pretty bad now. Well, I guess there
wasn't much he could do against Link, Cloud, and Snake with the whole
anti-Link/Cloud bandwagon behind him. Just like Snake couldn't do much

Well, this match is over now -- it's just a matter of watching Link run
up the scoreboard from here on out. Link won't be remembered for
winning this one though, Solid will be remembered for kicking superb

I might take Snake over Samus but no to all the rest. Remember, Snake
begins his slow downfall after this year unless MGS4 gets ported to the

I'll take Snake over Mario and Samus. Clinkeroth is still too strong
for him 1v1. As awful as Sephiroth looked yesterday, he's probably

| Urgh, this must be the worst match ever. As much
as I love Snake, it pains me to see Cloud getting his ass handed to him
this badly. I guess after yesterday people wrongly figured Snake was the best bet to upset Link and so he got a lot of anti-incumbency votes and I'm sure even a good portion of Cloud fans voted for him. No way he Snake has a chance to beat Cloud 1 on 1. That's why I dislike these 4-ways. This is something no one could've realistically predicted (Cloud fans rallying behind Snake to upset Link). --- 510 points. If the poll were held tomorrow I might take Snake over Sephiroth.
Cloud/Snake is close enough that I don't think I'd take Snake over
Cloud 1v1 tomorrow. But Snake won't keep this ridiculous bandwagon

That's basically saying Crono is hurting Cloud more than Sephiroth did. And that Snake somehow remained stable when replacing Kirby with Link. Ultimately, after this contest ends today, yeah, Cloud/Seph beat Solid
Snake. This was THE year to pull such an upset if he was going to, and
a lot of this rally-support will be lost next year. That said, I do
think Solid will have a bit of an L-Block effect -- that is, thanks to
this rallying and support to overcome, he should start off next year a
bit stronger than he started this year. This is fantastic attention for

Yeah, but I wouldn't be SHOCKED-shocked to see that change by the end
of the generation. Solid Snake's in probably the two games that will
last the longest this generation, the Wii will remain on top, the PS3
will continue to grow, he's got classic games to fall back onto, he's
become much more of an internet meme over the years, today will garner
him some more fans in coming years, and Solid has been THE character to
watch for the past two and a half years. If Cloud/Seph don't get any
more important releases for them in the coming years, I could see that

So, guys...what are your favorite contest moments this year? I
absolutely loved the confusion we had from Division One (especially the
first four days of the contest), Sandbag pulling a huge comeback to
upset Magus, having the account-bet with BT on Solid/Mega (though his
stipulations closed the bet), Pikachu eliminating our returning champ,
Kirby being the SECOND non-NN'er to upset Sonic this contest and
getting to eliminate him, Solid edging out Cloud yesterday, and Solid
hanging with Link for hours today. I don't know if today, Pika > L,
or Division One is my personal favorite, but it's hard to go wrong with

Crono/Vincent is definitely my favorite so far. Runners up include
Kirby beating Sonic, Pikachu beating L-Block, Crono beating Mario and
Samus (not that it was exciting or anything but obvious, but still
great to see), and Zack's whole run. If Cloud can do the impossible and
come back with the ASV today that would be amazing....but still not as

Ah, forgot about Vincent/Crono #3! That was a fun ride early on, but I
wasn't there for the end of it and I think I wouldn't have like it if I
was. Still, definitely a highlight of the contest even if it's not one

Cloud's quota is 21.25 votes/update. It's only going to get higher
though as Snake will probably make small gains until the ASV. Then
Cloud would need to make the greatest comeback in contest history. Not
happening, but he should do much better with the ASV today than
