Link's early vote might be better than Cloud's, but he'll do better during the day, too. The point is that if this were Link/Cloud and Cloud was in the lead already, he would win the match. Trying to compare Snake's lead on Link and Cloud and then pointing out Link has a better day vote doesn't work. Cloud has the better vote from this point on. |

| Not that I think Snake will win this, but it won't be because of Link's day vote that he loses. It'll be because he has a lot more rally/tournament follower votes at the start of this match than he did in the Cloud match. |

| I REALLY, really would have liked to have seen

Chapter 4 and 5 are the only good parts in the "movie", and they only constitute for about 20% of it total. The rest is filth. Especially 3. --- Warning, there is a bear right behind you. Ride Him. |

Like I pointed out before, from this point on in the 2k6 Cloud/Link
match Cloud gained 3% on Link from 43% to 46%. Link's day vote is nice,
but his early vote is better. A 60 vote lead on Link and a 600 vote
lead on Cloud at this point is very comparable. And both of their day votes beat the crap out of Snake's day vote. Really, nothing suggests that Snake has any chance here. His strength comes mainly from people sick of seeing Link and Cloud coming in first and second, respectively. Guess what? The day vote does not care about the that. Look at how L-Block's vote bled away during the day last year. Since L's strength last year came mainly from people sick of Link and Cloud last year (which is why he underperformed this year - the joke/gaming icon vote can only take you so far), this is proof that the casual voters do not care about this kind of crap. And take a look at last match. Snake held up well during the day against Cloud - but he would lose badly against the combined forces of Cloud + Sephiroth. Without Sephy SFFing Cloud, Snake would not hold up the day vote the way he did last round. Not to mention that there is another reason why Snake is winning the night vote. Crono. A character with a great night vote, and also one who happens to SFF both Link and Cloud, but not Snake. Crono will die during the day, which will only serve to strengthen Link and Cloud during that time. And rallying? Who got rallied more than L-Block last year? And he still lost the day vote by a large margin. Snake has no chance here. None at all. |

You know... I think my opinion of the four way format has changed. If a character that isn't a hunk of building material can do something this absurd... I honestly wouldn't mind this being the standard from now on. Snake beating Link 1v1? I'm not seeing that or even close to that. Shake-ups like this are fantastic. Trying to compare Snake's lead on Link and Cloud and then pointing
out Link has a better day vote doesn't work. Cloud has the better vote
from this point on. Snake's lead on Link compared to Cloud with the knowledge that Link's day vote beats what Cloud could do is the big difference here. Snake's early vote was better today than it was yesterday - and he still couldn't do anything of real note with it. Cloud does better compared to his day vote, but it's still not up to what Link can do during the day - especially one not hindered by another character like Cloud was last round, and he still nearly beat Snake there at the end. If this is the most Snake can do during his (second) best time and Link's worst, he'll get decimated come morning and with the ASV - I'd bet my account on it favoring him decisively. But I'm tired right now and might not be wrapping my head around what you're saying, though you'd be hard pressed to convince me that Snake's doing fine right now when compared to how he did yesterday. --- http://i33.tinypic.com/2s0xn3o.gif |

Link > Snake is pretty much a lock right now, I had Link > Cloud, top 50 at best. And I would like nothing better than to see Link and Cloud lose. But from a realistic standpoint, it will not happen. |
