Snake needs to worry about Kirby first. I'm hopeful for Kirby to steamroll through the rest of this! lol Anyway, I doubt there's much chance of Link>Snake as much as we'd all love it. |

If Kratos can beat Tifa with Seph in the poll, I can't see why Kirby
can't beat him with Cloud and Snake there. I think Snake will be fine

Hmm... Kirby didn't really come out of this as shiny as I thought he
would last night. Overperformance sure, but Sonic pulling his weight
would've made it not matter. He'll probably have a stellar board vote
next round (and that plus him being a big SSB fave means Cloud is

Also, it's clear what happened here. Auron beating Sonic caused him to
lose all his rings. Expect him to never beat another near elite ever

BT, you're really off base. Here's a hypothesis that sounds believable: sonic does so bad in these 4way matches because he no longer has a dedicated company fanbase behind him. in 1v1 matches, he gets the nintendo vote if facing a non-nintendo character, and gets the anti-nintendo (aka square, etc) vote when he is facing a nintendo character. in these 4way matches, however, there are usually other nintendo or non-nintendo choices, causing his votals to suffer. --- Isaac and Princess Kumatora for SSB4! 1 - simple and not too pretty, but it's iight 2 - excellent 3 - nothing wrong with the pic, but i'm not into it 4 - not a big fan of this. names are hard to read and the sprites are hard to see. the background pics are alright, but the stuff in front messes it up 5 - basic sprite pic and what is this ZSS in the background how dare you try and hurt the queen! 6 - great sprite pic --- This is not my GameFOX sig... Therefore, it doesn't exist! |

You know, that theory makes sense, but Sonic didn't have a Nintendo
character in the poll when he collapsed against Squall last year. I
don't buy that the MK/Final Fantasy fanbase overlaps with Sonic's THAT

Thing is, Sonic may have collapsed against Squall, but he still won.
Of course, if Squall had been in Auron's place this year he would've
stomped the hedgehog just as easily, and probably only lost last year
due to Snake and/or Block weirdness, but the fact is... you wouldn't
have expected Kirby to beat Squall in a Snake/L-Block/Squall/Kirby

I don't get what you're trying to say. I'm just saying that trying to
argue that Sonic is largely Nintendo now, and that somehow means he's

Sonic's more Nintendo in the sense that Pac-Man is - he's old school
casual vote. Same with Mega Man, really. We saw what happened when MM
got put up against three distinct fanbases in his final match last year
- he got pulverized. If he hadn't sucked so much as to lose to WCC the
same thing would've happened this year. What Sonic is doing is the same

but the fact is... you wouldn't have expected Kirby to beat Squall in a Snake/L-Block/Squall/Kirby match... would you? Yes, I would've. To me at least it seems like Kirby's the type that's tough to drive into low percentages. I mean... analyzing the fanbase... those that love Kirby really love Kirby. Kirby's never fallen below 45% or so 1v1. Some might say that's because he's never lost to someone ridiculously out of his league, but I really do think he'd hold up quite admirably against Cloud or even Link if he were ever to step into the match with them. Sonic, on the other hand, draws from a larger pool of fans, but doesn't have the same fanatacism in his devotees that Kirby does. Kirby has no chance of upsetting Snake or Cloud, even if he were
perfectly static from today to next round (not happening). At best he
might beat out Sephiroth for third if Cloud decides he needs the votes
and drives Sephiroth into the ground. Since we are less than 4 hours away from Mario vs. Crono V, here are the all-time combined vote totals in the Mario/Crono matches: Mario 221306 50.22% Crono 219342 49.78% Total Votes 440648 Mario leads by 1964. --- Crono's quest to beat Link: Link vs. Crono vs. Mario vs. Samus |

Snake should have little to no trouble next round. Kirby got rocked by
Snake lite, the real deal should put quite the hurting on him. He will
be the only true Nintendo character in the poll, so you have to leave a
small window of opportunity open, but I don't think it's anything to
