I'm well aware of the technicalities. But can't we just pretend? Sonic
is so far gone it isn't even funny anymore. I'll admit I enjoyed Auron
kicking his ass up and down, but Kirby? I mean, this means there are

If Kirby wins against Sonic here, we might have to declare a new King
of SFF - though it still isn't proven, we have large indications that
Kirby reverse SFFs the Nintendo fanbase (of which Sonic is now part).
Or in other words, is higher on the Nintendo SFF foodchain than just
about anyone - though Link and Mario would probably SFF him, and Samus
would probably at least do as expected. But despite that, Kirby's seeming reliance on SFF for his strength makes him more the face of SFF than Link and Mario. Either that or Sonic loses Nintendo SFF to pretty much every possible Nintendo opponent, which might be true as well. There's also the possibility that standing out so much from being a pink ball matters more in the 4-way format, because you've got this pink ball vs. 3 other characters who are harder to see. Though you'd think Sonic's bright colors would stand up decently, so I don't know how much this matters. Right now, even if Sonic ends up barely edging out Kirby, I'm thinking that if there was a 1v1 character contest next year (which there hopefully won't be, I want 1v1 games - though I'd by far prefer 1v1 character over 4-way games, which would be atrocious) I'd take Auron>Sonic. Would anybody else consider that? Today is match 60 for this year! Anyone know of a visionary poster (i.e. a complete lunatic!) who actually talked about Kirby in 2nd here before the contest started? Well, it's not from before the contest started, but it's from before this match started! RPGuy Oh by the way Luigi beat this guy Luigi for upper tier NN confirmed I completely forgot about that. But while I still find it hard to fathom Kirby>Sonic here, I also find it hard to fathom how Kirby could possibly lose a 1000 vote lead to Sonic. Sonic's good with the morning vote, but Kirby doesn't fall in the day. Relatively speaking, his day vote is probably better than Sonic's. So where exactly does Sonic start coming back? Sonic's best hope I think is that so far this match has been abnormal, and the day vote will revert back to "normal" strengths. I really wouldn't take any non n9 over sonic. For the simple fact that
sonic benefits from higher vote totals. 2k6 had less total votes then
2k7 and 2k8. Sonic beat Crono in large part to vote totals. No, auron
would not beat Sonic. He got 45% on Crono, who lost to Sonic. Vincent
is imo the only one that has a chance to beat a N9 character. Megaman
most likely still being the weakest. --- Nominate Red XIII for the Character Battle VII! He's the Lion with a fire tail from Final Fantasy VII. |

That was 2k5, and it was by a 700 vote margin. Megaman lost to Crono
that year by about 1.3%. Sonic beat Crono in 2k6. Sonic also had better

Nintendo SFF, how did he pound Luigi so bad? But I love it! creative, don't worry about that- SB confirmed the Games Contest for "early" in '09. Kirby had 23% support last round... 1/7 people who took him there to
have him keep going? Nah. Not with Chief, Sonic, and whoever was
soaking up bracket support in division 8 there. Lowest predicted match

There are clear signs that's Sonic Team's popularity is severely waning. Seriously, no way do most here *not* believe Sonic is the weakest NNer. It's like a given at this point. You seriously can't base your entire argument on 4way. For one, some
characters have a larger hardcore fanbase then others. Fact is, in the

4 way stats are just as viable if you're going to use old stats from 2006, when Sonic has clearly degraded in the past couple of years. Apparently a lot moreso than anyone ever imagined. I'm not sure why I'm having this conversation with someone who is obviously not an unbiased party. --- :> |

As in, someone attempts to explain it somehow, but it comes back all "DEFIED!" creative, don't worry about that- SB confirmed the Games Contest for "early" in '09. We don't know if that means Winter or Spring, but in either case there will still be plenty of time for a 1v1 Character Battle in the Summer. Hmm...I think I'd actually prefer only one contest next year! Only because I end up spending so much time following these contests, and I already have none to spare :( But on the other hand, a 1v1 character contest next year would be cool, since we haven't had one in ages and there's so much we want sorted out. It's been shown time and time again that certain companies fanbases
overlap each other in these formats. You are just choosing to ignore
that it seems. How am I biased btw? Like I said, Sonic has proven to be

alright this is now just pathetic,Sonic used to be top end stuff but
has now sunk so low I'd take lower square top guys like Sora and Auron
to beat him head on,Tifa/vincent/squall can crush him. at least make a comeback to make your loss not so humiliating,the last character i remember having such an epic fall from grace is magus/lara croft. --- Del Boy:He who dares, wins! |
