So does Kefka get SFF'd by Mario too? One could argue Zelda SFF'd Terra, so I wouldn't necessarily rule that out...however odd that is. ...and Zack's not losing much ground to Mario right now? MM is worth no more than 32% on Link and went on to show that in the years that followed. How is 37% on Mario in his strongest year bad for Zero? If anything its exactly what he should be getting. Luigi is more popular than Zero unless you think Vivi would beat him? He won with 53% which is hardly a suspicious blowout either. Except... you're completely wrong. On all accounts. MM was much, much stronger back then. He performed like absolute **** against Link. The only two possible explanations for that is A) it was an anomaly, or B) he shares a fanbase. Then Zero underperforms big time against Mario the next year. You could consider it another random anomaly if you wish. Finally, in a match that Zero was supposed to win convincingly (I think most people had him beating Luigi with 55% or so), he went on to lose by the margin. Another anomaly featuring MM/Nintendo! Or, you could take the easy answer and say that the fanbases are similar enough that substantial SFF is seen in their matches. Also explains the MM/Yoshi match too. This "theory" was invented in 2004 and has been spammed ever since any time MM performs badly and theres a Nintendo character nearby to "explain" this. Sonic is a bad comparison given that the character himself is the same genre as Mario characters, appears in Smash bros alongside the entire Nintendo cast and also shares an Olympics game with Mario. MM is what Nes and Snes attatchment? So does Kefka get SFF'd by Mario too? Theres minor overlap everywhere but its not significant in this case, MM just sucks a lot more these days than you'd care to accept. Other then the last two years, MM has always been really strong and proved it. The only fishy matches he's had have been with Zero (rSFF or whatever reason you want) and with stronger Nintendo characters. Sonic is a platforming series, as is Mega Man and Mario. The thing that Sonic has over MM though is that he's only appeared on Nintendo consoles recently, as opposed to just about every MM game being on a Nintendo console. Using Sonic in Brawl is a bad proof since he's only been involved in... 5 matches since that announcement? --- Good Times, Great Memories |
