MC isn't that bad at night. He's got the mature crowd to draw from.
It's just that he's usually up against someone with an awesome night

Crono finished at 48.58% on Vincent, so if Dante/Chief can make up the
same amount of percentage as Vincent (ridiculous, I know), here are the

I like how this contest has basically degraded to seeing who has less of a life between Albion and Biolizard. Then how did Diddy do so poorly? Either SFF with Captain Falcon (and Kratos Aurion, to a lesser extent) or Diddy, like Lucario and Olimar, was a worthless sack of crap in the first place. --- Isaac and Princess Kumatora for SSB4! I simply took the difference between Vincent's percentage on Crono at
the 40 minute mark and the end, and added it to Dante and Chief's

He's trying to related today to Crono/Vincent, but he doesn't realize that: 1. Unlike Crono, Kirby has a fantastic day vote 2. Unlike Vincent, Dante/Chief have a decent board vote 3. People are taking this as some kind of indication that Nintendo's
futures are looking up? Looking good when the three characters are
SFFing each other or doing damn near the same thing isn't remarkable. Let's look at the non-SFF matches for a good gauge. And in those, you've got Yoshi getting annihilated by Squall, Liquid Snake putting up 45% on Luigi, Marth letting Duke Nukem lead him overnight, and most of the other miscellaneous small fry getting crushed far beyond what anything warranted. Square's throwaways (Balthier, Kain, Rydia) at least had the good sense not to embarrass themselves. Dante needs a BIG lead to hold on. Plus, once the votals in the dead
hours go down, rallying is alot more effective. And I've got my game

Dante's going to need a good lead to hold off Chief, so he'll have to
be making bigger gains later, but he's not doing too bad right now.
Definitely needs to get over 1,000 if he wants to have a shot at

SFF is Same Fanbase Factor. It's not Same
Company Factor or Same Genre Factor or anything like that, and there's
a reason why - fanbases don't work like that. In this match we've got the second-biggest badass on the PS2, the second-biggest badass on the Gamecube, and the biggest badass on the Xbox (kinda wish Chief was replaced with Hayabusa here so we could have a throwdown of the second bananas). Oh... and Kirby. If there's any factor that should've been coined by now that hasn't, it's STF - Sore Thumb Factor. We saw it with Pikachu in Round 3 last year. We'll see it with Sonic tomorrow. The old Nintendo/Square lines are the most stark divisions we have, but there's more to it than just that. When Snake/Ryu H SFF is one of the most severe cases of SFF we've ever seen in this format, the old definition of SFF has to be expanded. --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

I know you're the resident FE fanboy here, but Marth had no business being in contention with ANY of them, especially considering how much he stuck out as the sole Nintendo representative there. The most pitiful of Ninty reps would have upset that balance - and, lo and behold! - it did in Round 2, didn't it? The conventional wisdom is little more than just that. I'll tell you *my* CW - I had Marth from day one in my bracket, and had total faith in it. AFTER I had already decided that Nintendo was probably going to lose a step this year.
