Because advertising for a console character who's relevance in gaming
has pratfalled in the last ten years on a MMO/PC-Gaming centric website
is going to get him a huge rally? Especially when there's a big,
internet trend-friendly Cube in the way? If you're going to rally for Mega Man, you're gonna have to go hit some retro gaming sites. MMO-Champion Mega Man rally will have all the potency of pushing for gay marriage in the Bible Belt. --- Meeh. Whatever. |

No, seriously, KH is right. It's not about where you rally, it's about
what the topic title is. Mega Man fans exist everywhere. I do not doubt
that a "vote Mega Man" topic on a Portal fan board would get almost as

There's a higher chance they don't vote for your character just to spite you. In a 1v1 that is likely true, but in a fourway it'll be divided by 3, and overall I suspect it would be a (likely small) net gain for the rallied character. Mega Man fans could always use capcom message boards if they wanted to maximize the chances of their character gaining (or in general when rallying for a character, any of the corresponding company's message boards). I do agree that votes for PC characters are probably far easier to obtain. I can't imagine it being worthwhile for anyone to dedicate a large amount of time in order to secure a few hundred votes though! --- SlayerS_`BoxeR`: that is many tank? SlayerS_`BoxeR`: yes? |

The worst part about trolls is that all you can do is plug you ears and

You know, I figure the best way to cancel out the WCC-rally (for
whatever Albion's rally is worth.....) is to post topics in the same
place his topics are and simply request people to vote with all four
characters in the topic title. When people are fully aware of their
choices -- especially if it is kept above WCC-specific rally-topics --
then people can choose for themselves. The site may be WCC-biased, but
ultimately awareness would stifle a lot of whatever the current
WCC-rally means. Not only that, but the topic posts would probably give

Plus the stats Kamikaze put together over the 1 hour I stopped rallying to prove a point: MM vs. Cube - 10:58 to 13:39 - 47.6% MM: 5167 (average of 161.5 votes an update) WCC: 5688 (average of 177.8 votes an update) 32 updates MM vs. Cube - 13:44 to 14:34 - 50.83% MM: 1517 (average of 151.7 votes an update) WCC: 1467 (average of 146.7 votes an update) 10 updates Rallying vs. no Rallying As you can see, even if it loks like they don't really care from the very few posts, its obvious it does effect things. --- http://news.cnet.com/i/bto/20071030/cube-2_540x618.jpg http://card.mygamercard.net/aero/Albion+Hero.png |
