Also, I find it amazing how much better than Sonic Crono has become
since last year. CTDS is apparently doing wonders for him, when a Brawl
announcement was needed for Sonic to even eek out an SFF'd Squall.

I am in top 200 and I have Chrono>Pikachu.I thought well Chrono is

Everyone seems to forget something.He is the only character from Noble

Ryu is Elite and was owned last Round. Pikachu is owning L block himself here. i'd say Sonic might be losing to Pikachu if he was here instead of Crono. |

Sonic would get owned so hard by Pikachu if he was here... I mean, if Chrono only got a 2500 lead on Pikachu, I can't imagine Sonic having a lead at all. You can't say that Crono looks good here and then rag on Sonic. You
just can't. The format is screwy, but ultimately I'd expect the
relative order of the Noble Nine to be stable, except maybe for the

Obviously Sonic is coming off his most embarrassing performance. But I
still think Crono/Mega/Sonic is a toss up and I would say Auron would
never touch Sonic in a straight up 1v1. --- Should I start running now? |

Never *touch* Sonic in a 1v1? Remember, Auron put 45.5% on Crono in
2k6. External factors like KH2 becoming more played, the Ninty deboost,

okay, good. that makes two of us. :) the thing about Pikachu is his distance from Alucard. it looks like CF and Ike took nearly 100% of Pikachu's votes. ...I think Pikachu is just weird. Crono may be letting Pikachu scare him, but he crushed Ryu the round
beforehand. Unless someone's willing to tell me they'd take Pikachu
over Ryu straight up (uhhhhhhh), I don't think we can really use this

I'm liking Vincent. Crono is impressing us by not spiralling downwards
as he did the last two years, but he's not going above and beyond
expectations. Vincent's looked just fine, too. I'm not sure if Crono

Oh, I like Vincent there too. The whole fact that Crono doesn't seem to
have taken another disastrous nosedive makes me at least not write it
off as a foregone conclusion though. Whatever Pikachu does to Samus is

I'm expecting another Vinnie win (maybe even a more comfortable one).
Vincent has looked very stable after his first round mini-snafu, and he
should have the benefit of standing out a bit amongst his competition. This whole situation looks great for Link, though. He'll likely be taking Vincent (or Crono, but that would surprise me) to the finals, and that would all but guarantee his easiest final win yet. More and more I'm coming to think characters change strengths between
rounds in 4-ways to a much greater degree than we've been thinking. I
don't think we've seen Link, Mario, Crono, Cloud, Sephiroth, and maybe

Well it looks like Pikachu finally made L-block run out of power, with
over a 2000 vote lead on him i feel certain that there's no way L-block
can make a comeback now. One thing is for sure, this match will really mess up calculations and X-stats, because with Pika's performance today it would suggest that Pika is stronger than Ryu. Could it be that Ike and Captain Falcon were really suppressing him? This match's objective is complete but there's still another joke character to take down: the Cube. Knowing joke voters, they're likely gonna try to rally the cube to try to get by Mega Man and Zero with Snake taking first. Cube actually has a chance however as Zero and MM will likely SFF each other, but then again after seeing this match, we can see that anything can happen. Imo, the only way the Cube is denied from advancing is for either MM or Zero to give up most of his votes to the other. --- "If history is to change, let it change. wait a second,Mario is probably out to X next round. >_> The ease with which Mario beat X despite sharing the poll with Luigi suggests that he'll be safe next round. I don't know, I saw MM do the same thing to Yoshi and Yoshi didn't seem
affected. it's pretty clear that Link overlaps with Mario more than he

I like Mario to beat Zack and X next round. Samus really stepped up her
SFF abilities when she needed it, and although Mario did much better
this round than last, I don't think he's hit his full capacity yet- he
resisted Link SFF very very well last year. Crono/Vincent I see as a tossup at this point, with also a decent chance of the winner between them taking first, and a very small but non-zero chance of both of them beating Samus. I'm really hesitant to say that Pikachu's chances next round are zero because I thought his chances today were zero. If Mario and Samus are in the final, Crono/Vincent should be considered heavy favorites. If X is there instead of Mario, I still like the winner of Crono/Vincent to advance to the finals, but Samus has a chance of making it. If Zack and Vincent are there, Samus should be the favorite to advance; with Zack and Crono I'm not sure but would perhaps favor Crono slightly. If Mario is there and both Crono and Vincent are too, it could be a very interesting 3-way battle for 2nd. If somehow Zack, Crono, and Vincent somehow all make it, Crono takes second easily while Link laughs and breaks 50%. --- Crono's quest to kick L-Block out of this contest: Round 3: Victory! |

I actually am curious about Link > Samus -- Link overlaps with Mario
a lot more then Samus, I think, and Samus has a bit of a fanbase that
extends outside of typical Nintendo. the top half of the bracket is

It's official: Pikachu and L-Block are the two strangest entities in contest history. Not that I'm complaining! Now Vincent/Crono is actually significant! I wouldn't be surprised if Mega Man beats out the Cube despite Zero now, especially since these joke entries seem to be more like regular characters instead of consistent. Also, Zero's performance in the big "Noble Nine Killer" match last year
doesn't really bolster my confidence in X. Call it last place factor or
a byproduct of simply being neglected or whatever, but barely breaking
21% on Link was bad cheese. The difference between his two performances
on Crono was also staggering. He went from 47% against Crono to 37% between rounds. Based on all we've seen, I'd argue that Mario would have to really, really drop the ball to lose his next match. And even if he were to lose, I'd argue that Zack is more likely to do the upsetting.
