Match LII: Crono vs. L-Block vs. Pikachu vs. Alucard Last Round: Crono – 32.09% L-Block – 27.74% Ryu – 23.85% Amaterasu – 16.32% With all the fears everyone is having about L-Block Crono didn’t have much trouble winning and is actually the first character to lead against L-Block for an entire poll. One of the reasons that Crono did so well was that Amaterasu wasn’t up to par with Crono and Ryu letting them get more of the percent while L-Block remained static. L-Block did show a bit of weakness getting the lowest percent ever in its contest career. Pikachu – 30.30% Alucard – 29.26% Arthas Menethil – 21.21% Captain Falcon – 19.23% Good thing Falcon folded by much more than Ike or else Pikachu would have came in second. Still he needed the day vote to come back and build a lead against Alucard. With Ike out of the poll Pikachu had no problems beating Arthas unlike what many thought despite Falcon interfering. Analysis: I understand that the stats topic hates joke characters now, but you just can’t cheer on every single character that has a chance on making the upset. The best chance to eliminate it was last round and while it won’t be going for first it should have no problems keeping second. With all of the talk this match has been getting one character has been forgotten, Alucard. He was unable to capitalize on a weaken Pikachu and will get last in this match. Since 2003 Alucard hasn’t really made much noise and sometimes it feels like he is here for the ride. We need a new Castlevania game where he is the star and the game gets good reviews then maybe Alucard can start to impress us again. This match is one of the few rare times where last round’s opponents were stronger than this round which is good news for Crono. Since L-Block is pretty static Crono should have an easier time beating it and last round he had no trouble to begin with. The internet seems to be pretty quiet this year meaning that they don’t care or no one has done any rallying. Even in a worst case scenario Crono should still advance. What I don’t understand is how people can think that Pikachu has a chance against L-Block. Not only is Pikachu weaker than Ryu, but Alucard is stronger than Amaterasu. The joke would have had to die or something over the past two weeks before I think Pikachu has a chance. Though this is the first match without another Nintendo character so it should be interesting to see where Pikachu stands in the stats, unless you think Pokemon are affected by other RPG characters which is a possibility which adds to my amazement knowing that people think Pikachu has a chance. Knowing all that L-Block won’t have much trouble advancing in this match though it didn’t look as strong as it usually was last round. Still that only means that it will only get second in this contest rather than first unless some massive anti-rally comes along and we know anti-votes only works on a few characters. Still Pikachu is weaker than Ryu and L-Block had no problems beating him last round so it should be an easy match. Despite what the stats topic is saying this match will be interesting for the first five minutes then after the board vote dies L-Block will take a comfortable lead over Pikachu and that will more or less be the end of the match. | Samus is currently at 53.43% on Vincent and 67.38%
on Ganon. That represents a gain of about 5% on her performance last
round against Ganon. That makes me think that Mario (who also looked
much better this round than last) may win easily against X next round,
as I think he still had some room to go this round before completing
the transition from "obvious favorite" to "vote needed." I'm looking for a terrific performance from Crono tomorrow- we may be looking at 36%+ with Ryu and Ammy being replaced by Pikachu and Alucard. L-Block may throw a wrench in that, but I think Crono can flatten Block and beat him by over 7%. He'll need to do so to look like he has any chance of beating L next round with Samus and Vincent there. Crono, L, and Alucard should follow fairly similar trends, while Pikachu will probably win the board vote (do half the people here secretly vote for Pikachu every match or something?), die overnight, and win the day vote as the only day character here. --- Crono's quest to kick L-Block out of this contest: Round 3: Crono vs. L-Block vs. Pikachu vs. Alucard |

Looking at the number of people who think Pikachu can beat L-Block, he
probably will, relative to the rest of the power hour. The favorite for
first basically never wins the board vote- Ryu won it last round
despite everyone knowing he had no real chance to upset L-Block after

| No, as much as the board hates L-Block now, he's
still got a terrific board vote- he was beating Link, Cloud, and Snake
combined 5 minutes in last year after all. He's just gone from
"800-vote-lead-on-Link-in-5-minutes" levels of amazing to "very good"
