Zack's getting the Barack-bump. Nah, more seriously, Zack shouldn't be in question, but it will be fun to see what happens. R2 suggests Zack's going to go on a running riot while R1 suggests Zack's not going to necessarily crush Duke/Altair. Zack should win, but it will be fun to see by how much. Also, now that it's not a sprite-based match, Duke will hopefully beat Altair again. --- NRT winners: Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, Star Fox 64, Donkey Kong Country 2 Remember these games! |

Not thinking Duke beats Altair here. We saw how Duke folded against

For what it's worth, Gordon hot off of Orange Box was also in the poll
and I've been a big supporter of Gordon/Duke hurting each other.
Altair, Zack, and Link won't split him (unless Duke Nukem 64 helped
Duke a lot somehow...though that's not a real big base for the Duke,

Match XLIX: Link vs. Zack Fair vs. Duke Nukem vs. Altair Last Round: Link – 53.34% Zack Fair – 23.90% Zidane Tribal – 12.16% Wario – 10.60% Well this match shows us that Zack really does have power and has the ability to SFF characters of the same series. Getting 30% on Link is something very hard to do and he even had Zidane holding him back somewhat. Sure Link had Wario holding him back, but we should finally get a good reading on him. Duke Nukem – 31.07% Altair – 30.50% Marth – 23.16% Lucario – 15.28% It was expected for Duke to place in this match, but he decides to up one that and take the match for himself. Altair showed that his win over fodder doesn’t actually make him strong and Marth was hit with what seemed to be a truckload of LFF though when you compare Lucario to Altair it resembled a lot like their first round match. Analysis: Round 3 is here and we can finally move on from this division which cost me the most points in this contest. It still has one more punch left in it and since I have Lucario coming in second I will yet again be left with half points. I guess this is what happens when you make a division with many characters being near each other plus including over/underrated new characters. Still there is only one character that is up and above the rest of the competition, Link. Like his previous matches Link shouldn’t have much problems taking first as he continues his journey to the final battle. For the first time however Link has nothing in common with his opponents and if he is being held this will be the match that will show his true power. Still this is a step up from last round’s competition so don’t expect Link to break 50%, though he should be close to that magic number. With the fall of Altair last round Zack has nothing stopping him from taking second and like Link with nothing holding him back he should show his true colours as well. Zack performed like a near-elite last round with Zidane and Wario in the poll and seeing that they got similar percentages I’m expecting Zack to pull more or less the same performance against Link as he did last round. The interesting battle will be for third. Last round Altair was able to come close enough to Duke that random variation could change the result. One interesting theory about Duke is that he only does well against no-names because he has a lot of name recognition, but when put up against another character with name recognition he falls apart. If this is true Altair could capitalize on that and take third. Still he won’t be anywhere close to Zack. A major flaw with that theory is that Gordon Freeman had Orange Box released mid-way through the contest and was probably the major reason why Freeman defeated Duke easily in round 2. Personally I don’t think Sonic had anything to do it and seeing Freeman doing so well in this contest gives reassures me that the theory is false. Link and Zack both advance to the quarter-finals and finally this division is done. Duke will have one last stand in his impressive run by beating Altair for the second time. Match 49 Pictures: I love the first pic(I'm in the tank for the King). Second pic everyone one looks badass, which is impressive for the two effeminate characters(more so for Link). Third pic I dislike. It's creator obviously hates the Duke, He's the king but there's only so much you can when your just a friggin' head. Objectively, I think it favors the second places of the last round, for it allocates more screen space for them than the winners of the last matches. The fourth pic WTF!!!! WHAT IS THAT MONSTROSITY! No one looks like their supposed to. I have no ****ing what is going at the bottom, but whatever it is it ain't good. The maker of pic possess disdain for all characters in this match and hates the contest. The L-god pics I love.
