Because we've already seen Squall get mega-SFF'd by Cloud, yet Sora
seems to have resisted SFF from Squall on multiple occasions, and why
would Cloud have significantly more overlap with Sora than Squall would? That's the general consensus, I believe. --- caps |

I'd say Squall/Sora are closer then Cloud/Sora due to Squall having a
pretty big role in Kingdom Hearts, so I don't think Sora will be hurt

Sora is from a different series that appeals to a (somewhat, at least)
different audience. The fact that he already seems to be within
Squall's league means he should easily defeat him with Cloud in the
poll. Mewtwo should be a bigger challenge for Sora in that match. |

Because Squall is in the very next FF game after Cloud's, both are
similar characters, and we've seen Cloud kill Squall before? Sora is

Why are we discussing the match up between 3rd and 4th place in that
match when we all know Cloud is going to kill both of them well enough

Because it's Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy
8. They're the lead protagonists from arguably the two biggest FF games
ever. They're both PS1, etc, etc. Sora is from Kingdom Hearts, which
while influenced by FF, is significantly different from FF. If they're
different voting trends aren't enough to show they have a different
core fanbase, all that other stuff should. Then there's Sora being
seemingly resistant to SFF from Final Fantasy (see: Squall), and then
Squall getting demolished by Cloud. Cloud hurting Sora as much as Squall, or worse, would be one of the most shocking results of the contest. --- all hail ec your lord and savior |

Saying that Cloud won't SFF Sora because Squall couldn't is pretty
silly. If you don't think FFVII has significant overlap with KH (or
just about any Square title), I don't know what to say. Whether
Cloud/Sora is worse than Cloud/Squall is another thing, but Sora's
