Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them. X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process. rSFF (Reverse Same Fanbase Factor): An unproven theory that states that an SFF match will feature the expected weaker character receiving more benefit from SFF than the stronger character. For example, all evidence supports Samus being indirectly stronger than Mario, yet Mario blew Samus away during their 2005 match. That's rSFF in action, and the one case we have of the weaker statistical character winning with it. For other information, surf the contest sites a bit. Ugh. Boss isn't advancing, but Kirby seems to be riding this early day vote. I still think that as long as Leon/Dante both advance, that they should
SFF enough to let the Chief advance next round. If Riku makes it, its

Oh, I still think Chief looks good to advance either way, but I'm talking about him actually winning. No, which is why he has to hope for some Leon/Kirby split. He could get
past Leon and Dante no problem; those two will really hinder each other
in the next round. However, if Kirby acts as independently as he's
doing here, there'd be no logical reason to assume MC can suddenly beat

I don't see how Leon/kirby would be significant SFF at all though. It
might be a tiny bit of a hinderence, but if Kirby wins this by a couple
thousand, it won't matter. I'd only feel safe with Chief advancing if

Whoa, nice overnight performance by Big Boss there. Didn't expect him
to amass such a big lead over MC. He's not going to hold it though.
Chief's already cutting him. Kirby's safe though. He's still beating
Chief 90% of the time on updates, and his lead's over 2000. And I'm wondering how much Leon's RE2 pic had to do with how badly he performed last year. We've already saw how much Chris Redfield improved with a RE5 pic and not a "I'm a generic cop" pic like he got last year against Pyramid Head and Leon got in round 3 last year. If it wasn't so much a fanbase split between Dante and Leon and more
them looking crap last year... then I don't really like Kirby to
advance at all. Dante and Leon are still out of the puffball's league

I know but there basically going even at the moment. I'd love an EPIX
comeback to be honest. We've had loads of awesome close matches

I think Chief will do some cutting. We're 1000 total votes behind last Saturday's pace, and that was a match we should
be outdoing (Vincent/Gordon). It gives me the feeling that some people
still haven't voted because of Halloween, and I expect those people to

Hmm, Kirby is 2000 votes up, but Chief has finally managed to start
stalling him. Looking at MC/DK, this was also around the time Chief
stalled DK, and he began coming back fast with another couple of hours.
DK even had a similar lead to Kirby, and lost by 1500. Of course, Kirby
is no DK (or at least I hope not). MC nonetheless has a chance at
