Eh, I don't mind the sprite round going away when it's being replaced
by REAL user-created images all the rest of the way. Only letting our
artists create 1/4 the image and having it all pasted together was
getting pretty dull; I'd much rather see the cool pictures they'll be
capable of now that they can cover all 4 characters themselves. Only when it works. Cloud/Squall/Sora all have Chain of Memories

Match XLV: Big Boss vs. Kirby vs. Master Chief vs. Raiden Last Round: Big Boss – 48.08% Kirby – 36.78% Jinjo – 9.49% Lucas – 5.65% Well this matches caught a lot of people off guard, even if you believed that Big Boss would take the upset many still didn’t expect him to put a noble nine-like performance on Kirby. Is the picture factor really that strong? You can’t even blame Lucas since he got the lowest percent in this contest and the third lowest ever (Midgar Zolom and Adventure got lower) and any damage he did to Kirby was minimal. Master Chief – 36.82% Raiden – 28.35% Kain Highwind – 25.42% Professor Layton – 9.40% Even the day vote couldn’t stop Master Chief from looking bad in this match. No matter how much you could give Raiden credit Kain will have to be given just as much credit. Rydia may have also past expectations (what happened Cecil?), but even considering that Master Chief doesn’t quite look like his noble nine breaker self that he showed off last contest. Analysis: Two Metal Gear characters that performed well in the same match, will that cause the demise of one or even both of them? Before their matches last round it was strongly believed that Master Chief and Kirby will benefit from LFF and advance over the two, but with Big Boss’ performance everything is still in a loop. One thing that I can say with some certainty is that Raiden will not advance, he could come in third or fourth, but we will not advance. Raiden has already lost to Master Chief and whether he is on the receiving end or giving end that already puts him at a disadvantage against Kirby or Big Boss. Of course it’s possible that Kirby dropped like a rock and Raiden SFF Big Boss and still takes second, but that scenario is unlikely. The big question is which character of the Metal Gear universe do players favour, Big Boss or Raiden? Before Metal Gear Solid 4 it would be safe to assume that Big Boss would be favoured, Raiden was relatively hated in his roll of MGS2 and Big Boss just came out in a starring role, though in a different name of MGS3. MGS4 made Raiden more likable though Big Boss as usual lives on through the story and even make an appearance in the game. The worst thing that could happen is that the fans don’t overwhelmingly pick sides causing the two characters to LFF each other rather than one SFF the other which will probably cause the demise of both characters. As badly as Master Chief performed I still have faith that he can take first in this match. Master Chief was probably overrated with the release of Halo 3 mid-contest and has probably returned to a low level than what his stats say, but that should still put him in a decent spot. Unless Master Chief has really dropped I don’t see how he can fail to at least qualify for the next round. Still Kain doing so well is still not sitting well with me; maybe this match will shed some light into this. With last round’s performance Kirby is on the chopping block. He made Big Boss look like a noble nine character and even without the Naked Snake picture I’m pretty sure he would have still won. Kirby has to rely on massive LFF to turn his 57/43 loss into a win. It’s going to be tricky, but if Zero can turn a loss into a blowout win then it is possible. Well this is one of those matches where anything is possible and we won’t really know what is going to happen until the start of the match. Oh, and it looks like both of last year's busts (Midna/Balthier) have
performed well this year. Most likely due to the fact that more people
have played their games between contests. Nice showing from her today. A big LOL to Mewtwo and all Pokemon from here on out not named Pikachu. I still want to see Charizard in this just because of how badass he was in the show; how rare his Pokemon card was; and because of it being most people's first fully evolved Pokemon in the games. Although Mewtwo was more badass, his big claim to fame was that he starred in the first Pokemon movie, which judging by Lucario, doesn't mean as much as we anticipated. He's also the final Pokemon to catch in the first generation, and again we all overrated him because of that fact. I still think Charizard would beat Mewtwo. --- Good Times, Great Memories |

As for the pics: It'll be interesting to see how Big Boss does without the Naked Snake render. Can he outdo Raiden still? This should really tell us a lot. Kirby stands out a heck of a lot. I'm kinda feelin' good about him winning this one, for some reason. What the heck, Hogger? Man, he really messes up a pic full of pretty boys. Sonic is too smushed into the pic. Auron and Sub-Zero look awesome. Sandbag...is Sandbag. Yuck pic for Tifa. Awesome pic for Kratos and Jill. That's better than what he got in 2004, when he's just standing there while Cloud is getting ready to go Omnislash on him. Midna's still holding up really well. Mewtwo's pushing an 800 vote lead. While he seems to have put it away with the ASV, it certainly wasn't definitive. And for whoever suggested Yuna = Mewtwo, keep in mind that Cloud clobbered Ocelot, Jill, Kefka, and Marcus Fenix about this badly. Strangely enough, SFF'd Auron is still doing better on Cloud than Mewtwo is here. By the way, couldn't you give Mario or Luigi some N64 era polygons to
match Liquid? Dunno what you'd do about X though. He'd still stand out

If you're not going with R/B/Y (;_;), then I think I prefer the fourth
one. It's a little darker so I think it look sbetter on the background,
and it'll make him point right at Cloud, so it's set up like Squall vs.
