Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them. X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process. rSFF (Reverse Same Fanbase Factor): An unproven theory that states that an SFF match will feature the expected weaker character receiving more benefit from SFF than the stronger character. For example, all evidence supports Samus being indirectly stronger than Mario, yet Mario blew Samus away during their 2005 match. That's rSFF in action, and the one case we have of the weaker statistical character winning with it. For other information, surf the contest sites a bit. They have everything. --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

Vivi trying to mount a comeback? |
HaRRicH | Posted 10/29/2008 2:04:22 AM | message detail |
Yeah, Hayabusa should have gone on to fight Kratos last year...and
Hayabusa/Kratos would have been good. Seeing Hayabusa abused by Solid
again brings up some fun though. Solid doesn't need help impressing
when he's got 43.5% of the vote, but it's worth noting Solid currently
gets 23.9% on Hayabusa... as opposed to 28.38% last year pre-NG2 and
with Nightmare (if that mattered). That's a 4.48% difference even
though Hayabusa got a new game and got away from a character who may
have taken his fighting fans. This is a big testament of how Solid is
doing this year, even if Hayabusa regains a lot of ground with the ASV. It doesn't hurt he's currently beating Vivi worse than the last round, too. --- NRT winners: Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, Star Fox 64, Donkey Kong Country 2 Remember these games! |

Snake definitely has a slightly stronger pack than Samus. Ganondorf > Zero Ganondorf is clearly 1 level above that of Zero, no explanation needed. Vivi > Frog Vivi is quite possibly stronger than Riku especially if we talk about their respective performance against Leon and Ryu.H. Frog struggled against freaking Axel (Riku >>>>>> Axel). Do you have evidence of Vivi having a stronger day vote than Zero,
or are you just saying that because of your hatred of everything Mega
Man related? MM characters like CT characters follow the typical obsolete character trends in that they have a strong initial vote then steadily die as the day goes on. --- Smurf. The cream of Sonic Fanboyism you're like some devious internet fiend- Majin |

Well Zero's lead was down to 388, but just went up a bit to 392. Vivi's

Vivi's definitely gaining on him, but will it be enough to pass Zero

Samus had Ganon and Frog who'd both probably clean house in this group. You mean the same Frog that went almost even with Axel. Axel scored only 30% on MM, oh wait, MM is actually stronger than Link and that is why Axel/Frog can clean house in this group. MM will double Sonic if they actually meet up again. --- Favourite wrestlers so far- Taker, Punk, Daniels, Joe. |
-LusterSoldier- | Posted 10/29/2008 4:12:03 AM | message detail |
Yeah, but at the rate Vivi's going he might only have a 5 vote lead by the time the SNV starts. You can't mean SNV (Second Night Vote) here, because that's from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM EST. Wow, okay looking at those R1 comparisons Vivi drops with the ASV quite
a bit more than Zero does. Vivi should continue to make small gains
with the DSV but once ASV hits i bet Zero starts gaining again, then
widens the gap even more with the SNV. And yeah i had the times way wrong, thanks for the correction luster. --- Proud member of the A1 Steak Sauce Guild |
