1) After today, I don't buy Spy hurting Arthas.

2) That said, why are people getting so down on Arthas now yet were all for him last round? He's beating CF-hurt-by-Pika worse than he beat Ike-hurt-by-Pika Ike probably doesn't beat CF worse than 55-45. Ultimately, this isn't too much of an under-performance compared to what he did last round. I know Alucard didn't look impressive last round as opposed to doing well enough this time and he's further away from Pika this time, but Pika/CF is different from Pika/Ike for Arthas or CF/Diddy for Alucard...

...I mean, am I missing something? It just feels over-dramatic to be hating on Arthas all of a sudden since the last round. He's done well enough to fend off a weakened Ike and cleanly beat a weakened CF.

Prolly cuz I hyped him. If I didn't endorse him at all, people prolly wouldn't care either way and surprised someone who did so bad last year even won a round.

Its just the reason why people are so sad was that Arthas could have been the one alongside Crono to stop L-block from advancing in round 3.

Now that we see he's not gonna make it, L-Blocks pretty much assured to make it to at least round 4 now.

Arthas had basically no chance of stopping L-Block anyway. And if he managed that somehow, he'd probably make the finals.

SFF and LFF are both "SFF" in the sense that they are both related to fanbase overlap, but they refer to different effects of it. SFF refers to one side getting killed because the fanbase disproportionately favors one side. LFF refers to both characters hurting each other relative to a third character outside of the fanbase.

Not true. SFF is applicable in 1v1 settings where there's a clear overlap, even if there is no absolute blowout. Best example I can think of is Bowser/Kirby where the vote totals were absolutely abysmal. SFF is overlap, plain and simple. Seems silly to invent a completely different term to describe the exact same phenomena only when it applies to a third (or fourth) character impressing BECAUSE of the overlap.

#324 Arthas looks worse this round because last round Ike and Pikachu were hurting each other, while this round it's more of Pikachu SFFing Falcon.

How the bloody HELL are they different in any way?

Fanbase overlap. That's it. Here you have a weaker character, Alucard, taking advantage of FANBASE OVERLAP to imprerss against the much stronger Pikachu, because Pikachu and Falcon have the SAME FANBASE.

BT they may both mean overlap, but there's still a difference. For example I can say that I own a dog, but there are different kinds of dogs.

Seems silly to invent a completely different term to describe the exact same phenomena only when it applies to a third (or fourth) character impressing BECAUSE of the overlap.

1) SFF is when sharing the same fanbase causes a new particular factor to come into play, thus Same Fanbase Factor. When we had one-on-one matches, we hardly cared about the vote totals in comparison to the percentages in the match, and the effect that changed those percentages is why we cared enough to coin the term.

2) TRE knows what he's talking about. You don't. If the term of LFF bothers you so much, just consider SFF and LFF synonymous like you have been and leave the term to those who know how to use it.
