This is truly a nice surprise. Even though this is an all Nintendo
character round i didnt think X would actually get a lead over Mario
even if it is a slim one. As for Mudkip do you think the 4channers have gone to bed early, or have they given up on him? Also while a tad off topic, if youre listening to mega man x music during this contest which game and which track? Mario/Zelda/Mudkip have to be leeching each other *severely*. X only
matched Zero's performance on Lloyd, and 2005 Zero is a far far way
from Mega Man. However, if that's the case Knuckles must have been

Luigi/Bowser is way more direct than three totally independent nintendo
series. Luigi/Bowser is definitely more direct SFF, but denying that Nintendo SFF exists, especially when we've seen it happen within these "independent Nintendo series" before. X is connected to Nintendo, but he isn't as connected to them as Mario/Zelda, though I'm hesitant to throw Mudkip in there for how wacky it is. There's not much doubt SFF (or LFF, whatever) is holding Mario back here, and letting X steal first. --- six bullets. more than enough to kill anything that moves. |

Yesmar (#220) First round performances for obvious favorites have shown to be diminished. LFF happens because there isn't enough of a fanpool to draw from. Mario/Zelda overlap? how about Link/Yoshi? if you're talking strictly in this format, how about Luigi/Ganon last year? I guess you'll argue that Chief was a god-killer last year, so I shouldn't bring this up, but most others would agree. still not sure why people were thinking Zelda's picture kills her, by the way. Post Chrono Trigger DS and in a 1v1? Eh, I'd still go with Mario. No, I meant right now, 1v1! After CTDS gives Crono a HUGE boost (think Kingdom Hearts, FFIV DS) Mario won't be in his league anymore! (Actually, I think Mario would probably win now....but Crono would at least make it closer than last time, and CTDS has potential to be enormous for him, because he has by far the last exposure of any of the NN characters, and any of the near-elites for that matter. --- Evvivan: Character Battle VII --- Score: 110/156 --- T-420 (108 way) Bracket: Mario > Megaman X --- Vote: Megaman X |

I'm more inclined to agree with creative as far as Zelda and Luigi go.
Can't see Luigi holding up against Mario, not that things are looking

series. And people thought I was crazy for denying pokemon/nintendo SFF. I agree with you to a certain extent, but Nintendo characters at the very least have very heavy system SFF- the same reason why MGS/FF SFF exists: most people who owned that particular console have played both. Vastly magnified, of course, owing to at least somewhat similar appeal and the simple fact that almost everyone who grew up with an NES and SNES all grew up with Link and Mario (and Mega Man, which I think explains his pseudo nintendo status) --- "There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses." --Ezekiel 23:20 |

Luigi.. probably won't do as well as Zelda. but the overlap is less, too. overall I think you'd have to call MMX the favourite to beat Mario, with Liquid Snake being a complete oddball that's difficult to predict. Who thought seeing a majority of matches being SFF matches would make
