| Brawl De-boost isn't saying characters are actually hurt by Brawl, I just say that because people had BRAWLFEAR all off-season and now the Nintendo Head-Up-Ass policy is making the Nintendo camp look like crap. You want "hard evidence"? Look no further than Yoshi, Kirby, Luigi and Bowser. They are the best gauge of Nintendo's health, since it would take Nintendo exploding all of their hardware with remote bombs, killing billions, for people to not vote for Mario/Link/Samus, and none of the other Nintendo characters we really have a good read on. |

It's not just Bowser, but a combination of Bowser and Luigi. Together,
they're barely managing 50% against Liquid and Phoenix Wright. Yoshi's
advantage is that he's clearly going to get the better of Fox, but
you've still got a situation where: Luigi + Bowser > Yoshi + Fox Squall + Sora >>> Liquid + Phoenix The Square guys can easily make a run for 60%+ of the total vote there (especially since what we've seen from Nintendo overlap has not been pretty) and that would put Yoshi in a tough spot. Yoshi lose to Mewtwo? I actually kind of thought Yoshi losing to Sora
is more likely with Fox there to drag him down a bit(Squall didn't seem
to be affected at all by Sora last year) --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice. |

That aside, Samus/Ganondorf sounds like the best pick for Samus/G-dorf/Frog/Nightmare, right? That aside, Samus/Ganondorf sounds like the best pick for
Samus/G-dorf/Frog/Nightmare, right? After all, Samus and Ganondorf went
at it in 2005, and Ganon didn't seem to be affected that much. Judging by how Zelda withstood SFF from Mario of all characters, Ganondorf should do just fine in that match. --- Good Times, Great Memories |

I would still consider Bowser over Ganondorf. Man, Liquid's dropped all of... less than half a percent with this day
vote. Anyone think he might be functioning slightly as a Snake proxy
here? Yeah, we already know that theory got invalidated... before
Brawl's release, anyway. Between Snake getting unrecognizable pictures
half the time anyway and being listed in Brawl as just "Snake", the SSB
fanbase may be more prone to confusing Solid and Liquid than the core

Time for more Frog > Ganon hype. Phoenix's current percentage against Bowser: 45.69% Phoenix's current percentage against Luigi: 40.61% Phoenix's current percentage on Liquid: 38.41% Phoenix's percentage on Bowser last round: 34.64% Phoenix's percentage on Magus round 1: 43.70% Phoenix's percentage on Magus round 2: 37.57% Magus/Phoenix round 2 says that Magus would be winning this poll were he in PW's place; Magus/Phoenix round 1 says that Magus would at least be beating Bowser. Bowser is doing about 11% worse on Phoenix this round compared to last round, with Luigi S/LFFing him. Actually, the effect is probably larger than that, because Bowser was probably being LFF'd a little by Geno last round. Frog's percentage on Ganondorf last round: 35.59% This was with 2 other RPG characters in the poll, with Ganon as the lone Nintendo entrant. And while it probably only affected the final percentages slightly, Ganon benefitted notably from the lack of picture during the first hour. Take away KOS-MOS and Neku, and Frog probably gets around 40% on Ganondorf. I don't think Liquid is acting very much like a Solid Snake proxy- he's not nearly far enough ahead of Phoenix for that. It's still mostly in jest, but if he's doing so I'm thinking it's mostly on the SSB side, which would mean any proxy votes would be much, much smaller than, say, a BB, not to mention that Luigi and Bowser would be sapping SSB support.
