Zack is going to be getting near the same percentage on Link that Vivi got on Snake and Zack's dealing with Zidane. --- Demyx is better than Axel. |

Sure there's quite a bit a difference: the main thing working against
Zack being that Crono is much stronger than Zidane. But if you don't
believe in Crono/Vincent LFF or believe it was minimal, then, assuming
Zack goes up a lot like FFVII usually does, Zack does look like he's on

I do want to see Zidane again next year after Dissidia, though. He's
probably the character that would benefit from it the most (assuming
they don't ruin his personality...like the previews are showing, damnit
Square). Zidane's probably already benefited from Dissidia, considering he upset Shadow. How much better is he going to get? (Especially if hype > release.) |

Unless Altair blows the roof off the poll tomorrow, I think Zack is
very safe. No way would I bet on casual bait to beat everything from
Final Fantasy VII, no matter how cool the casual bait looks (doubly so

Vincent's percentage of Link/Vincent votes at 1 AM (round 2): 35.99% Vincent's percentage of Link/Vincent votes at 1 AM (round 3): 29.61% Zack's percentage of Link/Zack votes at 1 AM: 31.00% Zelda and Bidoof were the other 2 characters in round 2, which should be much more favorable for Vincent than Zidane/Wario are for Zack. Although FFVII/IX overlap should be larger than FFVII/CT overlap, Crono probably hurts Vincent's proportion to Link more than Zidane is hurting Zack's proportion simply from being stronger and Crono/Vincent being hurt about equally, whereas Zidane is probably suffering more than Zack here. I think we're getting a little silly with this Zack stuff now. He's a
solid entry in the contest for sure, but he's not taking down the Tifas

Well, when I first made my bracket, I had Zack advancing out of his
division without really a second thought, and then put Zack over Mario
briefly before changing to Mario. He held up to Link SFF last year too

Well if Mudkip is in the match, Zack's chances of taking down Mario
become lower probably (and they are very low even with X there), and
Zack's chances of losing to Mudkip are definitely well above zero. For
that matter, Mudkip's chances of beating Mario are above zero too. But
Zack's going to stand out as the only Square character in that poll
against 3 Nintendo-related characters, and I'd be surprised if he lost

Don't forget that the 4th in the Luigi / Ganondorf / Mudkip match was
Vergil. Here, the 4th is a Zelda that held up against Mario SFF rather

Mario is far above Ganondorf/Luigi, but I'm not so sure about X. Normal
Megaman is probably closer to Ganondorf than Mario, and X is probably
weaker.....I hope X resists SFF from Mario really well, because it

Mudkip's not really going to be SFF'd that much, I don't think. Even if
'dorf and Luigi aren't Mario and X, Mudkip held the lead over Luigi for
3 hours and over Ganon for 12.
In a match where all four characters are Nintendo-based in some way,
there's going to be some funky stuff going on and I'd take the "joke"

Wow, Zack with nearly 25% of the vote? I'm really impressed. He should
drop from here because it's looking like Link finally decided he wanted
to have a morning vote, but still...Almost avoiding a doubling from
Link is impressive. I'm tempted to call him a lock to get out of this
division because he'll look even better next round for two reasons: 1. No Zidane to hold him back (if he is, he should be) 2. He'll have an unmistakable FFVII polygon Those both should work for him.
