If there's FF/RE overlap, there sure as heck is FF/MGS overlap (heck,
looking at the game contest, you can make an argument for all three in
the span of two matches). I'd chalk it more up to Cloud acting like a
black hole last year and making the more hardcore fanbases more
important - kinda like Riku/Ryu H changing hands when Snake was
introduced into the match. Riku's fanbase being disproportionately more
enthusiastic probably made the difference against casual bait like Ryu
H. --- As for casual Fenix beating Ocelot in Round 2? FF/MGS overlap, duh |

Cloud sucking up a lot of percentage makes sense, but then how come
Ocelot couldn't do anything against Fenix the next round? Ocelot got an
even worse percentage in that round, so it's not like Fenix just beat

I alluded to it in my sig, but Fenix was the one entity in that match
that didn't have ANY overlap with the others. When Xbox - or anything,
really - stands alone, it shines. This year he instead got put in a much more diverse fourpack - New Square, Mortal Kombat, and Jugs. Didn't look nearly as good. --- turnturnturn your brain in turnturnturn your brain in |

Yeah, an Ocelot comeback would be nice, but last year they were pretty
even throughout the day. Now that Cloud's not there it's going to go
one of two ways - either they stay even and Ocelot gains little ground,

Karma Hunter (#303) This makes the most sense...but still. Ocelot's had MGS4 and Jill's had nothing (well Umbrella Chronicles yeah, but c'mon now). Even Chris and Leon had reasons to overperform, and Jill has nothing. Last year I took Ocelot > Jill because I thought FF > MGS > RE on the SFF tiers, and the hardcore MGS fanbase would pull through then, but removing Cloud and putting in another popular Sony character does this much for Jill?! god damn gamefaqs you voters make no sense --- Moltar Status: augh Heavy/Jill/Kratos/Ocelot - Bracket: Kratos > Ocelot - Vote: Ocelot (97/124) |

He's winning more easily than I thought coming in, although maybe all
the stats topic Ocelot-bolstering gave me some paranoia. But trust me,
the Seph/Tifa SFF will rear it's head next round. I'll make you a Jill

I'd like to propose a toast to Ocelot, he's giving characters that we once thought were washed up a second chance. Cheers! Now for Zack/Zidane. Zack got 57.43% on Wario and Zidane got 53.36% on Shadow. Personally I think Zidane has a great chance on Zack and even if he doesn't win it will at least be close. Ocelot: F- Who was the biggest flop of the first round? In my opinion, the prime contenders are Shadow and Ocelot, for losing (in Ocelot's case, probably losing) matches that they had no business losing. Lucario's up there as well, but at least he actually beat Isaac. Other notables include Diddy, Kefka and Niko, DK, Zero, Ness, Kirby, and maybe Ramza. --- Mustache...and green... |

Lucario is easily flop of the round. I mean, sure, Altair surprised, but he scraped by Lucario when even most Altair pickers expected him to win by like 10% at least. --- Master Chief's quest to defeat Cloud: Round 2 - Raiden/Big Boss/Kirby. I mean hell, I wouldn't be shocked if Link got 60% tomorrow. Wario will
be getting Luke fon Fabre type of percentage, and Zidane/Zack should
LFF a bit to have both of them look similiar to Shadow/Zidanes
