I think he's implying that she's not really getting pummled into the ground like all logic dictates she should.

Unless she is getting SFF'd into the ground and she really IS equal to Samus <_<

I'm not seeing any effects of SFF so far. Even if he does get to high 40s, 30-31% is about what I'd expect for Tifa in this match not counting sff.

Tranny's probably half right.

He's half-wrong because most of us thought noone cared about Tifa and just voted her for her game, when it actually seems like she does indeed have a fanbase (unless these are just the same perverted losers that voted for Rydia yesterday)

I said that Sephiroth wouldn't be at 50% before you wake up, which shouldn't be any later than 12:00 PM EST.

...On a normal weekend I could argue that <_< But this weekend I'm working, so yeah.

Tifa's likely going to end up around the mid-20s by the end of the match. Most of Sephiroth's percentage increase will be at Tifa's expense, but she'll still end up looking well here. I figured she would be able to resist SFF against Sephiroth more than someone like Vincent would (not that SFF was Vincent's only problem last year). Round 2 should be interesting to see, depending on just how far Tifa drops.

Looks like Crono & co will no longer be the ass end of the day vote once CT:DS comes out.

The question then is, who will be the ass end of the day vote? I personally think Aeris, as she lost the day vote to a Chrono Trigger character, and if that's NOT evidence that your day vote is god-awful, then I don't know what IS!

Depending on how this goes down during the say Tifa and Sephiroth aren't holding up particularly well against Nana and Ratchet. Tifa should be safely tripling both of them, and she's not. Obviously the two are being held back by SFF, but based on how well TIfa's holding up, they should be doing a bit better.

I think we might be seeing something along the lines of what happened with Link and Mario/Samus last year. Both Mario and Samus held up much better to Link SFF than we expected, presumably because the Nintendo fanbase was confident Link would win anyway.

Crono was at 54% during the first hour against Megaman and finished at 51%. That was back when polls started at 3 AM, but CT has looked much more frontloaded since the time changed to 12 Eastern (Vincent actually reached his highest percentage against Crono at around 7 or 8 in the morning in their 2005 match).

People might be voting for Tifa because they know Sephiroth will advance.

And they're worried about her against NANA AND RATCHET????

I think the picture is having *some* effect (what's up Rydia), but I would've thought it to be less than half of a percentage point. At the very most, it should be resisting SFF. This looks like massive rSFF.

So our chances are just barely 50% :(

I wouldn't go as far as to claim "rsff".

Tifa (2005c) VS Sephiroth (2005c)

Tifa has a strength of 33.57.
Sephiroth has a strength of 49.16.

Sephiroth wins with 65.86% of the vote!
A win of 36,320 with 114,529 total votes cast.

Seph's currently got 58% of the votes between them, but those numbers always underestimate the difference and this won't be this close by the end of the match. it looks fairly linear to me, this match.

If Tifa keeps up what's she doing, I like her a lot for next round. She'll end up a good bit below 30% here, but it'll be quite a bit above her expectations. Sephiroth won't be looking as good I figured either.

Gotta see how tomorrow goes. Can't say anything about round 2 until then.

I get the feeling the SFF will be more apparent when the competition is stronger.

http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/drupal/node/22?matchnum=2923&num=4

Cloud put up like 64.4% on Sephiroth there. He's never come close to such a percentage before (even in the Battle Royal). Half of these results are screwy. Don't just trust the numbers; try to think how Sephiroth will allow Tifa to perform well enough to take second place despite two strong guys with devoted fanbases in the poll. Very unlikely.

I kind of see this as being Sephiroth vs. Not Sephiroth. Tifa gets most of those votes.

a lot of apathy votes will be moving from Tifa to Kratos and Ocelot. this isn't to say that Tifa will get killed necessarily, but there's not much to vote for here if you don't like FF7.
