You can't say Nintendo/NN weaken just randomly. There has to be a reason for them weakening.

Again, Nintendo fans not caring anymore explains all of this. Simple solution, no need to go back to college to figure this out.

Since the Stats topic still is confused with the demise of Nintendo, I'll explain.

Brawl: Brawl was overrated and caused all characters involved to weaken. Zelda characters got hit worse than the rest but the point still stands.

Age: GameFAQs used to be domianted by high schoolers. Now it is college. What do college kids like? Not Pokemon and Mario! They like XBox and Final Fantasy because those games are socially acceptable in dorm rooms. This explains the increase of these two groups and the gradual weakening of Nintendo.

You know... that thing hochi just said... it actually sorta made sense haha.

of course it makes sense. you don't have to use big worded terms to understand that concept. I mean really... isn't it blatantly obvious that if one group of characters weaken, by staying the same strength you'll appear stronger by default? I'm pretty sure everyone over the age of 5 can recognize a concept like that. That doesn't mean Crono will look any better against Vincent though.

Aw yeah Magus trying to pull away. It will be interesting to see Sandbag's trends here- the CT Power Hour is probably stronger relative to its final percentage than the SSB Power Hour, although both are very strong, so hopefully Sandbag will act like L-Block last year.

Doesn't make sense. Shadow got boosted because of his game, so a game that is liked by most people should not weaken characters.

You can't blame this on one game. Blame this on Nintendo not giving a **** about gamers, and therefore gamers no longer caring about Nintendo.

Sandbag is not really weighing Sonic down. Please! You guys are stretching. Sonic will look better once the day hits, he'll probably be 10% ahead of Magus. That still sucks but it makes sense if you assume Magus is around Kirby in strength.

I still don't understand how you can say that with no mid-range Nintendo characters to judge Magus against.

Personally I think this is just a good old-fashioned Brawl De-boost signifying death for Snake and Sonic and Mega Man and Auron's hand's.

Magus vs. Big Boss/Mario/Phoenix

40 minutes in: 20.93%
End of match: 17.80%

Granted, Magus should do better during the night because there is no one of BB's caliber to contend with him, but the day vote should really brutalize him. This is assuming, of course, that Sandbag holds up and has decent day trends. If he/it does not, this is all a moot point.

When was the last time you heard the "Nintendo es kiddy" canard?

It's high schoolers and middle schoolers that care about "kiddy" entertainment. By the time people have gotten to college, most of them are perfectly fine with liking Disney, Loony Toons, or in this case, Nintendo.

Shadow got a boost from his game? Uh, no. He went from 45% on Mario to losing to Fraudus to being fodder last year and uber-fodder this year. He's been getting WEAKER. There was no "boost" from his pathetic excuse of a game.

It has to do with Nintendo ceasing to make video games, and instead making those lame edutainment things you see advertised on TV all the time, where they pay off kids with candy to pretend they enjoy it.

WIthout Brawl, Snake gets beat 55-45 by Mega Man. With MGS4 Snake probably closes the distance somewhat, but Mega Man just got Mega Man 9, his biggest game in 15 years. I would have taken the upset but I had Zero in that match. If Hayabusa is there, Snake is toast.

RPGs are about as nerdy as you get. Don't even try to bring that Final Fantasy is socially acceptable in dorms crap.

The only thing more nerdy then video game RPGs is real life RPGs (dungeons and dragons).

his performance this year was mostly Link completely SFFing most of his support

even then i'd say Knuckles did just as bad if not worse than Shadow... 20% on that match is no better than 15% on a match with Link.

But a lot of people off this board don't like Brawl! Or, to put it this way: nearly 100% of the Brawl fanbase likes Melee. Much less than 100% of the Melee fanbase likes Brawl. Therefore Brawl cannot boost anyone except through hype/anticipation, because its fans were already Melee fans. Some Melee fans that were previously excited about Brawl now dislike it. Hence the Brawl De-Boost. That and Nintendo shifting its focus towards casuals.....

Keep it up, Magus. Hopefully you can cut Sonic soon.

Now, without an idiotic bias, the correction:

Without Brawl, Snake would beat Mega Man 55-45, like he already proved a couple of years ago. With MGS4, Snake expands that crushing to about 57-43. With Brawl, Snake beats MM 58-42. Mega Man just got MM9, so he might be able to fight back to 43%, but it's unlikely.

Turtle is correct that Snake got nothing from Brawl. Solid Snake was not THAT impressive this round. However, Snake will still destroy MM. Why? Because the next most pathetic thing in this contest after Sonic characters is Mega Man characters

I argued this very same thing before Ike/Arthas, for reasons why Brawl newcomers were performing like ****. Most people said I was stupid for thinking that.
