I doubt Zack is any stronger than we thought. Time has shown that Old
Square is mostly separate from New Square. Cecil has 0 casual appeal.

You realize that Old Square =/= New Square is a bad thing for Zidane
right? That basically confirms that his match against Crono was legit

Considering his match with Crono happened 3 years ago, so what? He's
obviously not the same Zidane as the last two years, or he wouldn't be

I actually like Zidane next round. I don't know if I'd pick him over Zack, but I think he's got a good shot. For what it's worth, didn't Vivi hold up amazingly well against Sephiroth in 2k4? I imagine Zidane means more to fans of FF9 than Zack does to fans of FF7 (or even the FF7-world?). At the least, whoever wins, I wouldn't really think SFF would be involved. --- NRT winners: Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, Star Fox 64, Donkey Kong Country 2 Remember these games! |

Really, if Cecil had sprite SNES pics instead of what he's gotten, he would've been much more powerful than he's shown, and I don't see how anyone could argue otherwise. Also Kain is probably slightly stronger than Cecil. But I wouldn't say the difference is huge, except that a modern non-sprite Cecil picture pretty much can't attract the old-school fanbase, which makes him a weakling more or less. However I don't expect much of Rydia, even without Auron SFF. Her pic won't attract the old-school fanbase like Kain's pic did, where he was clearly Kain the Dragoon. After seeing Zidane handily upset Shadow and Vivi stand up stronger
than many expected against post-MGS4/SSBB-Solid Snake, there may have
been an odd influx of FF9 voters here. Then assuming Sephiroth didn't
SFF Vivi much or Crono SFF'd Zidane (though that's different), that
