raiden is going to SFF Big Boss a lot. Don't know if you've played MGS4
but Raiden is an AWESOME character in it. Even with the Snake photo,

I know Raiden is awesome, but Kirby has a lot of ground to cover.
Remember when people thought Bowser would beat Ryu once Toad and Mewtwo

Huh, Kain somehow doesn't suck too much more than Raiden during
daylight. He's probably done, but I don't see him falling too far below
25% at this point. Which is quite fine by me. Seeing my favorite 2D FF

Seeing Kain do well is convincing me to rally to get him in next year
instead of Cecil. I mean, the worst that can happen is he gets an 8
seed and loses to a guy like Snake, and the best (well....maybe, I want
a 1v1 contest next time) is he gets put in a fourpack with one newcomer
(hello instant jobber), so if he avoids getting stuck with an FF

were removed same thing except backwards. I'm still convinced that that was all because of Shadow, because we saw him holding back Link against that hoser Zidane. And I fail to also see how a badass secondary character being stronger than his lame, wussy lead is surprising. Auron/Teedus anybody? Zidane/Vivi? Or even Balthier/Vaan? The reason Cloud and Squall are the strongest from their games is because they ARE the badass. That loser Vincent has nothing on Cloud. --- I want adventure in the great wide somewhere... Cecil is pretty cool in his own right. This match just created more questions than answers for next round. Okay maybe Ryu/Bowser was a bad example. Where is Master Chief on the list of first round bombs? Yeah, no matter what you think of Raiden, this match says Chief/Kain is
about 59/41, which is awful. Kain can only be so strong, especially
when you consider that Wario/Cecil is about 71/29 based on the first

MC's definitely not as strong as last year... but I wasn't expecting
him to be. I was banking on 360 acceptance weakening the blow he'd take
this contest though, but uh, yeah, looks like he lost more than I was
expecting. Still I don't think he's quite as bad as everyone is selling
him off for. Every single MGS4 character has impressed to absolutely ****ing bonkers proportions, except Snake but that's cause he sucks and BRAWL DE-BOOST. Luigi > Bowser or Bowser > Luigi is the guru fave, yes? Yet Liquid only finished behind Luigi by 6% without the Koopa King even being there. He should now be considered the favorite to advance to R3. I don't think anyone needs a reminder of how impressive BB was yesterday, Snake proxy votes or not, and then add onto it the general consensus before this match was that Raiden had the most reason to gain from MGS4 and it's really not that bad for MC. MC > Kirby is pretty much locked up for next round after seeing what Raiden has been able to do here. Unless something really ****ed up like Kirby > MC happens. The only thing that makes me wary about my thoughts on MC are Kain obviously, but we'll just have to reserve judgment until further rounds/next year. --- eat me |

I don't see how Kirby > MC is "****ed up" after Chief's performance
today. The two taking either variation of the top 2 slots wouldn't
surprise me. If anything, Round 2 now points to Kirby > MC depending on what you would expect Kirby to do against these guys. Anyway, what do you guys think the percentages of the R2 match are if... a) Big Boss gets a old man pic b) Big Boss gets a Naked Snake pic c) Raiden gets a MGS2 pic (if you think the Cyborg pic helps/hurts him) --- Moltar Status: augh Kain/MC/Layton/Raiden - Bracket: MC > Raiden - Vote: Raiden (77/100) |

So....which threepack is stronger, pre-MGS4 Liquid/Alucard/Yuna, or
post-MGS4 Raiden/Kain/Layton? That's all you need to look at to realize
just how bad this is making MC look. The guy's like 6% below where he

Who knows? Post MGS4 Raiden, Kain and Layton are all complete unknowns.
Obviously the former appears to be the stronger, and everyone pretty
much agreed on that before this match, but you can't say one or the
other is stronger with any sort of certainty. --- eat me |

| This definitely makes me want to see Kain and even
Cecil back again next year. I'm a lot more confident that in a
favorable group, they could place. Like I said before, Cecil may not be entirely weak... perhaps Zack really is just that strong. It really remains to be seen. Rydia's performance won't mean anything unless she does really well,
because she'll get SFFed into the ground by Auron. If she breaks 15% in
that match then Cecil and Kain are all of a sudden solid midcarders. If

...This match makes me wish I had Ocelot going to round three now. It'll be interesting to see what he can do to Kratos in a few days. All things MGS4 have impressed so far. Woah. Hey now, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Ocelot appeared to be on the fodderline level last year. It would take a pretty big boost to get him up to the upper midcarder level which is what he would need to take down Kratos. Liquid Snake did not overperform to any dramatic effect. Are people honestly underestimating him *again?* He just got saddled with 4th Place last year. He still was equal to Alucard the round before. The reason Cloud and Squall are the strongest from their games is because they ARE the badass. That loser Vincent has nothing on Cloud. But Cecil isn't really considered "wussy" in the same way that someone like Tidus or Lloyd is. Kain is the "fan favorite", but there's plenty of people who still like Cecil. Kind of like a lesser version of Crono and Magus. And based on his performance in the second match, Zidane probably would be on par with Vivi if the latter didn't look like a Black Mage. --- ""This is my chance to avenge my father's death. Ocelot appeared to be on the fodderline level last year. It would
take a pretty big boost to get him up to the upper midcarder level
which is what he would need to take down Kratos. Replace Ocelot with Raiden and Kratos with Chief.
