Last match, the block received 44 325 votes, last year, the block
received about that number inn all it's matches except the last two.
the important questions are: 1. are those 44 000 likely to abandon the
Block for anyone else? and 2. Will it be as easy to create a huge
band-waggon for L-Block this year as last year, it needs it if it is to
top the elites of the contest. --- Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do and die. |

At least Kirby is finally kicking it up with the morning/day vote.
Jinjo fell to where I expected it, and Lucas continues to just
be...'haha oh wow;. BB reached 49% overnight? WOW! No point in even calling him BB for this match, this is Snake we're seeing here. A slightly weaker Snake because some people are actually not voting him because he's only Big Boss, but its Snake nonetheless. I doubt this has a big effect on Round 2 unless BB gets Snake's face for a pic. Hard to say at this point... obviously Kirby is slicing him up during the day, but the match is long over... I think he's over Luigi though, for sure. Zelda would be close one on one. --- :> |

You would take Zelda over Luigi? Look how close he was to Ganondorf last year in round 2. Man, sometimes it seems like half the people in this topic don't follow past matches at all, or conveniently ignore matches that go against their picks. That's the only explanation I can find for Leon being the favourite to come second in round 2. As for Master Chief, am I the only one who thinks he's going to come back to earth now? He really has nothing going for him this year. Last year he had the release of his biggest game, this year I can't see him beating Dante. --- I want adventure in the great wide somewhere... To her credit, Zelda performed very well even while being SFFed by
Mario this year. I highly doubt Luigi could have placed ahead of
Knuckles in that match. But just like your Ganondorf/Luigi note... a
bit unfair I think. And that was back during Xbox days when Xbox was a joke and hated on

Good job on completely evading my observations there. For the record, I don't discredit MC at all. If he does well here, I think he's definitely a member of the top 25 (in THIS format) despite his prior chokejobs. In solo play though, he's never proven himself to be anything but one of the most gigantic chokers in the history of the contest. --- :> |

I really hope that no one goes insane over a MGS4 boost if Raiden really surprises us tomorrow. We have to keep in mind that he was fairly unrecognizable in his pictures last year, and could very well have been suffering a Zero Suit Samus Effect, but now that MGS4 has come out, people should recognize who he is. --- "Oh! Not to mention it's questionable how high of a % MC can really bring
in. He can still be a beast in this format, and have a hard time
hitting the high 40's. The entire reason he's thought to be such a
beast is the format, lack of anti-votes, etc. etc. His downfall has
been him performing down to the level of his competition. It's pretty
clear that it's tough as hell for MC to nab 50% in a match, not that he
can't do it, but that's why he's so amazing in this format. I didn't
take him to go as far as he did last year because of H3 hype, the
number one reason behind that line of thinking was how greatly he'd be
benefitted by the format. MC could get in the 50's tomorrow, or he could get 41%, and either way I wouldn't be too worried about him. Obviously it'd be much more reassuring to see him in the 50's, but I don't think a poor performance tomorrow spells his downfall. --- LONG LIVE GAMEZACKS |

Once again, Master Chief will not be NEARLY as strong as he was last
year. Last year was a perfect storm for him that won't be repeated.
