B = Character Weaker than A

~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

rSFF (Reverse Same Fanbase Factor): An unproven theory that states that an SFF match will feature the expected weaker character receiving more benefit from SFF than the stronger character. For example, all evidence supports Samus being indirectly stronger than Mario, yet Mario blew Samus away during their 2005 match. That's rSFF in action, and the one case we have of the weaker statistical character winning with it.

For other information, surf the contest sites a bit. They have everything.

Phoenix Wright characters seem pretty clearly stronger this year:

Mario 46.6% 62062
Big Boss 24.89% 33146
Magus 17.8% 23700
Phoenix Wright 10.71% 14263
TOTAL VOTES 133171

that, along with their trends, tell me they're legit. Phoenix looks legitimately above the fodder line now.

GameStops (at least the ones near me) constantly have Phoenix games in stock, so maybe after his run last year people decided that, when they wanted to get a new DS game, to try out that game with the name of the guy who beat Bomberman.

...Or I dunno, maybe Wrighto is just weird.

Come on, Cloud! You gotta get a move on! The second night vote ain't long enough for you to get that extra .85% you'll need!

Man, looks like Link's going to nab the biggest blowout of the contest by around a percent or two. Looks like Cloud's still out of his range, not that I'm surprised. I'll take Zidane, Shadow, and Jade over Axel, Midna, and Edgeworth.

At least, I think I would. Jade is an awful lot of suck.

Uhhh...Midna/Shadow/Zidane/Amaterasu: Who you got?

Ness - 28.27%
Pac-Man - 23.86%
Travis Touchdown - 10.42%

That's my prediction there. Mewtwo will probably get mid-to-high 30s, but I think Ness is a bit too strong to let Mewtwo get 40%.

Looking at it now, I feel like I might have undershot Pac-Man a bit.

Squall?

Yoshi is obviously the strongest by far of any of these. Midna's a good bit better than CATS, and Axel's about equal with Drake, I'd say. Squall might be able to break 50% here, but not much more. 50% is hard to do. Even the Noble Nine are having a hard time managing that this year.

Naked Snake pic, time to die, Kirby! The pink puffball's pic is really good though. Another good all-around pic.

The last pic though is pretty ugh. Don't really like the colors on Kain's, MC's looks really ugly to me, for some reason, and Bacon still likes Robo-Raiden, I see. Layton's the only one I'd say looks decent there.
