Edgeworth comeback just sounds so wrong. Who the hell could he beat that he wouldn't start out leading against, and keep the whole way through? CATS?

Cloud current: 55.72%

Cloud R1 '07 to this point: 55.07%

Well, 60% isn't going to be a problem, clearly. But Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil have notoriously weak day votes, and of course Zolomy was a total joke (literally and figuratively) so I'm hesitant to guarantee the baby eater much beyond that. As sad as Axel looks right now, I don't see him falling apart during the day, and Midna's got a strong early vote but should also withstand the day better than Ocelot/Jill, being from Zelda after all. Edgey... yeah, will continue to tail off, but the other two ought to be able to make up for his failings some.

Huh, it almost seems as though voters are embracing the variety of this format more than last years. All the major players haven't dominated as badly as expected. Cloud still looks good, but the fact that he may not outdo last year's opening performance despite clearly weaker competition is telling.

this.. I don't think Cloud is hitting 60%. he hasn't gotten a single 60% update yet.

oh wait, there's one. 64%. still, I wonder if he can get high enough come daytime. Midna should be pretty decent in the day, though Edgeworth will die a la Phoenix.

On Page 9 and 10

Zylo: I still would be surprised if Axel beats Edgeworth tomorrow, but feel free to laugh at me if I'm wrong.

MyWorldIsCrono: Man, I can't wait till this match starts so people can eat their words. Edgeworth, beating the face of the biggest selling game the last 18 months? Right.

I just love when I'm right and someone else is wrong in this topic, it barely happens. ^_^

cloud could maybe still beat link's percentage. even if he does by a bit though, link's pack seems obviously stronger. can't say i like the prospects of cloud > link without any sff help, though i wouldn't quite count out cloud yet in a link/cloud/block/bag final.

Link's pack is much stronger

as i said, both Shadow and Zidane would win a fourpack against these three people Cloud is facing with little effort.

and to make things worse Luke is very likely stronger than Axel Steel as well. >_>

Huh, it almost seems as though voters are embracing the variety of this format more than last years. All the major players haven't dominated as badly as expected.

Yeah, like I've been saying in my Crew writeups, pretty much every time you've had an elite character in a matchup that it was very clear (even to a casual fan) he would win, he's been hamstrung by voters jumping ship, generally in favor of the next strongest option. It almost seems that after so many years, voters are collectively doing something to shake up the traditional status quo this time around.

Which is why what we really should have seen indicated by that Who Will Win pre-poll was not the success of L-Block, but instead how such a huge majority voted in favor of the generic "something new" options. Pretty clear that, when it comes to GameFAQs at least, the voters of 2008 are demanding Change!

Speaking of which, the (shockingly rare) impressive first place performances the last two days fit well with that theory as well. Yes Sora took Fox to the cleaners pretty effectively, but that's actually the option that the casual Change-wanting voter would have been swayed to pick; those same casuals had made Fox the favorite to win that poll, with 43% of the brackets behind him to Sora's 37%.

Likewise yesterday, where the casual fan might very well have suspected that Yoshi was going to win that match. Squall had 82% of brackets picking him to make it to R2, while Yoshi had the support of 83%.

Let's have a rousing three LOLs for BT

L-O-L B-T!

L-O-L B-T!

L-O-L B-T!

Getting doubled by Edgeworth! This is great news! On a similar note, for some reason, Edgeworth seems to be on the same level as Kratos Aurion, maybe a little lower. I could see Edgey getting voiced by Cam Clarke.

Midna's having a good morning vote here. She's holding Cloud back a bit.

Squall Leonhart's Path to the CBVII Championship
Round 1: CATS, Nathan Drake, Yoshi
LeonhartFour | Posted 10/10/2008 4:22:45 AM | message detail
Yesterday's chart:

Time | CATS | Nathan | Squall | Yoshi
PHV | 18.81% | 6.67% | 42.49% | 32.03% | (0:00-1:00)
FNV | 16.32% | 6.65% | 47.15% | 29.88% | (1:00-6:00)
BSV | 14.26% | 7.00% | 45.99% | 34.64% | (6:00-9:00)
DSV | 14.32% | 7.26% | 44.90% | 33.52% | (9:00-14:30)
ASV | 14.85% | 6.83% | 44.50% | 33.82% | (14:30-22:00)
SNV | 15.02% | 6.34% | 46.99% | 31.65% | (22:00-24:00)

Yoshi with a good Power Hour, bad night vote. Typical Nintendo here. He did his best work with the morning vote, and he was fairly consistent all around. Squall had a bad Power Hour (relatively) and great night votes. He held up to Yoshi pretty well during the day though. Drake did his best work with the during school vote, and of course, CATS was a board vote guy.

Yesterday's stats:

Squall Leonhart – 50.00%
Yoshi – 42.14%
CATS – 25.29%
Nathan Drake – 13.22%

Cloud may hit 60% after all. not a bad performance. not great for Cloud's standards either, though.

I'd like to see an hourly chart of Cloud. it seems like he could increase every hour from the first all the way to the end of the poll.

that 5-6 hour will probably be his best one though. regular 65% updates.
