We need a bracket set-up that has Snake facing Mario in the Elite 8,
and then Samus in the Final Four. Snake better not **** up by losing to
Mario either. Or we could have Seph or Cloud take 'em on from one round

| We saw what Brawl did for him, let Squall almost beat him with Sora sharing the poll. And we saw what Brawl and MGS4 did for Snake, has him putting up numbers similar to Mega Man on similar competition. Vivi > Nero, but Olimar and Banjo >>>>>>>>>>>> Wesker and Crapboy. |

What would you prefer me to do, go back to 2002, or use 4-ways to prove
my point? Oh right, you just have no ground to stand on so you're going
to take a shot at that. 2003, 2004, and 2005 are the only contests that
we can even look at. Mario hasn't been in a proper match since then.
Unless you want to look at 2002, in which case tack another victory on
for Samus. But I didn't go there because 2002 is ridiculous. Nothing went over my head, I responded to everything you said. When you referenced me missing the point, you were talking about ZSS being unreliable and MARIO BEING MARIO I MEAN COME ON ITS MARIO. I addressed both, and yet you have nothing to say in response. Why would MM9 help MM in the slightest? Why would anyone who wasn't
already a MM fanboy buy that? I doubt even the hardcore bought since

Maybe if they Capcom got off their asses and made a whole new Mega Man
game instead of using the ugly NES graphics which by todays standards a

Dilated Chemist (#165) Alot of people praise them for MM9, but I seriously think they should have done it with the SNES or PS1 Mega Man graphics if anything. You're right, I did say that. And then you made some kind of lame
remark about it not having a chance. In the very next post I said I
didn't actually think that Samus could beat Seph, that I was being
facetious. You were then so gracious to post: Samus is still indirectly stronger than Mario? Isn't this where someone says "lol xstats" or something to that effect? Samus is not Mario. Samus will never be Mario. Mario may not always look impressive, but at the end of the day, I trust him to get the job done more than I do Samus. Regardless of the round and picture, which is a lot more than you can say about some of the other Noble 9, who have nearly lost to characters that weren't even Vincent. If Vincent had been in that match against Zero Suit Samus, we'd have been looking at a broken Noble 9 thanks to her. And she's going to beat Sephiroth? Sure thing. I have no problem with people thinking Mario is stronger than Samus. I
know plenty of people do, like Leon, tranny, KH just to name a few.
It's this infestation of completely unsubstantiated posts and stupidity

Considering the debate honestly only mattered before their match in 2k5 and Mario's not been around one-on-one since then, those are the only matches he can go to for his argument. That'd be like asking for reasoning of why L-Block can hang with Link and Cloud without using any matches related to last year's contest. You can't show L-Block hangs with them here without that, and likewise you can't show Samus >= Mario without those years. Onto more worthwhile subjects: Tim is going to suck pretty hard, but at least he's a gfun character. --- NRT winners: Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, Star Fox 64, Donkey Kong Country 2 Remember these games! |

It returns to a formula that works and sheds everything that made his later games suck. Your Sonic Team should take notes. 2) I have a friend who went back and played the Anniversary Collection for the first time because of Mega Man 9. Anecdotal evidence, but it proves that you are wrong. 3) The initial sales were incredibly high for a downloaded game, and we haven't even seen the 360/PSN sales yet. Just face the facts Smurf, Sonic is a failure and probably the weak link in the Noble Nine, and it will be proven when he loses to Auron and Mega Man beats Snake. |

Uhh can someone tell me what the Mario/Samus debate is? I have a few ideas; maybe one of these is correct: 1. Mario beats Samus and is stronger with Nintendo SFF, but they are roughly equal outside of that. 2. Mario beats Samus and is stronger with Nintendo SFF, but is also stronger in any other (normal) scenario. 3. Mario and Samus are roughly equal in any (normal) scenario. 4. Samus loses to Mario in a rematch but is stronger than him in any other scenario 5. not as quick to say whether or not he's clearly stronger in non-SFF
matches. They could
be roughly equal for all we know, but really, this only even matters
against one character: Snake. They both still beat everyone below him

I like #1 and #2, especially since -- as just mentioned -- it only
matters with Snake. I guess since I'd take Mario > Solid > Samus,
I have to take #2, but I do feel like in most circumstances it doesn't

I love how you say Sonic is below Mega Man, when we haven't seen what Brawl did to Sonic. From a few pages ago, I know, but... Despite how excited I was when Sonic was announced for Brawl, I don't think Brawl is going to do much for him at all. It seems a similar case to those in which Brawl characters who weren't in Melee didn't do as much as people thought they would. Not only that, but unlike Meta Knight or Ike (or Snake, for that matter), Sonic is terrible in Brawl, he's not going to be popular with any Brawl players who didn't already like him from elsewhere. I'd expect Sonic Chronicles to do a lot more for him than Brawl, if anything. This isn't to say that I know whether Sonic > Mega Man or the other way around; just food for thought. --- Attention, all yoctograms! (It's x2) DIE! |

Her result looks more impressive at first
glance because she beat Sephiroth, but I think Mario came out of last
year looking much better. He put up about 38% on Link. Samus put up
about 30%. Also, check out Link's totals there. We substitute a much
stronger Cloud for Vincent, and Link's percentage goes up 2.5%. Why? Because we also sub Mario for Samus, a character who can't hold up as well and may indeed be weaker. --- Yoblazer: NO LIMITZ Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your world! |
