Sandbag can make noise because WCC made noise. We once believed that
L-Block could only do well because practically everyone played Tetris,
but we've seen WCC excel too. Furthermore, two other Nintendo jokes did
well enough too -- Mudkip destroyed in MMX's match and The Dog was able
to nab ~14% despite L-Block (and MK if you wanna stretch for Nintendo
LFF!) against Ryu... ...Sandbag has been in SSBM and SSBB, both of which are much bigger than Portal or Tetris. Most SSB-fans will have seen Sandbag a LOT more than Portal fans have seen WCC, and at least Sandbag has an appealing charm through its purpose of being assaulted and you can interact with it as opposed to L-Block. If WCC can beat Tidus for first place, why can't Sandbag beat Magus for second place? The only two chances Sandbag has of failing at this point is if he's taken as a legitimate character or if Sonic SFF's it...neither of which are terribly likely at this point. Just saying, about half of the site thinks a joke-character will win this year for whatever reason, and after what we've seen so far we're not exactly looking at Sandbag to fail expectations here. Sandbag needs less percentage than WCC to beat an equal opponent, and practically all x-factors favor Sandbag over WCC. It may not happen -- gauging joke characters is difficult afterall -- but from what we've seen, Sandbag's in it to win it for at least the first round. --- NRT winners: Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, Star Fox 64, Donkey Kong Country 2 Remember these games! |

A few things to catch up on: I don't understand the logic that DeDeDe was going to be stronger than Pit because he had Kirby games to fall back on. Who likes DeDeDe because of Kirby? Seriously, other than Kirby 64, he's nothing more than a random enemy who serves as a last boss in a few games. I'm not entirely sold on Zero being hindered by Pit and DeDeDe either. Hayabusa proved last year to be stronger. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Riku beat Zero here, so this could just be Hayabusa being legit. There's always next round though! I thought he had Riku beaten in round 2 for sure last year, too! And for those thinkin' Fenix is gonna beat Sub-Zero...I can't see it. Fenix barely beat Kefka and Ocelot. Remember this is the Kefka who got owned by Duke who got owned by Sub-Zero. The gap is a little too big for Marcus to gap at the moment. And Sackboy could get joke votes based on his picture and name. It's not like everyone is familiar with LittleBigPlanet. The game's not even out yet! Don't see him being a threat to Vivi or even Wesker though. We'll see.
