Meh, I don't care much for Pit. Dedede's where it's at, and I don't
even know how the experts use him (other than chain-grabbing, which I

But it was obvious. When it comes to 2 very weak characters who only
have brawl support, the more popular brawl character would win. And
thats what happened. DDD is complete fodder even with Brawl, so I don't

I'll admit that I would have thought Dedede would have done better here
because he has Kirby games to fall back on besides Brawl. Pit has a
really old game most people have not played. My conclusion is that Dedede just really, really sucks but both are still well below the fodder line. --- :> |

Well, how can I not rely on Brawl when it comes to 2 brawl newcomers?
Obviously, when both characters are in the same game and both brawl
newcomers, the more popular Brawl newcomer will win. And pit is the
more casual friendly player. DDD would never do anything in this
contest with Kirby game strength, just like Pit would never do anything

Because one had an existing fanbase and the other didn't? I'd venture to say that DDD's fanbase was hardly bigger at all the Pits beforehand. I'm not a big Nintendo fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I knew of Pit since I was a kid, yet never heard of DDD till he was announced for Brawl. By that logic, ALL of Kirby's strength comes from Smash. For many second and third tier series, the side characters strength mainly comes from Smash, not the main characters. I disagree with the fact that Falco's strength is reliant on Smash.
Star Fox > Kirby in terms of strength... and Falco is just... well
he's Falco, everyone knows Falco. Kirby is the only character from his
game that can do anything because he's the only one most people know. --- :> |

Pit and DDD are probably somewhere near the fodder line. tough to say
when they're both exclusively Brawl characters and in the same match.
of course they're going to look bad. this isn't Brawl sucking, it's two

Because Dedede doesn't have a leg to stand on, despite having a fanbase that existed before Brawl was even revealed, and Ike couldn't have possibly have resisted SFF through his own loyal fanbase and taking the majority of Smash votes. But this is Brawl sucking. Not sucking in
my opinion, but sucking when you compare the real vote totals to the
predictions. The majority of people around here thought Brawl was going
to be this huge factor when it turned out it was a small factor, almost
a non-factor. The only Brawl characters that have done well are the
ones that were in the first two games. I'm not saying there's no Brawl boost, but it's very small and hardly noticeable. This match just proves it. Even with SFF, both of them added together don't come anywhere close to Ryu and Zero, who are solid midcarders sure... but nothing more than that really. I'd say that makes for fodder. --- :> |

characters in most situations. The only one I didn't was Lucario, but I
figured Altair would be fodder given the poor reviews Assassin's creed
got. Whoops. |
