| Why on earth are these joke "characters" allowed in anyway? Lets just have a conetest full of them next year and change the contest name to object battle. |

You sound like you think everyone voting for Block/WCC is planning it, and laughing about it to each other. That's not the case. Voting for laughs is universal. Voting for Snake is not. What difference would it make to me if it was planned or not? Either way, more people are going to want a joke character to win the contest again instead of god damn Solid Snake, and you can call me a whiny ***** all day but that fact alone makes me disappointed in gamefaqs. --- Brawl FC: 0344-8961-0822 |

Would an item have the same voting trends as their respective character or game they're associated with? I think it should be limited one item[exception for dual items(i.e. Ebony & Ivory, Chaos Blades, Blades of Athena, etc...)] per series. Should be traditional 1v1 matches. Link---Master Sword Cloud--- Buster Sword Kratos---Blades of Chaos or Blades of Athena or (joke entry) loincloth Snake---Cardboard Box of Stealth Pokemon---pokeball Master Chief---Sword of Cheapness(aka M.C. layzer sw0rd) At least I think it would be a nice spring contest before a Character Battle --- If you read this signature, then you have wasted your time. yeah, agreein' with Moltar. but I don't think there's too many good
matches.. debatable, yes, but not too many nailbiters. only two close

Honestly, I've lost a lot of interest in the contest now. I don't want to seem whiny but man I really gave the voters the benefit of a doubt that it was just Tetris and it's like "hey a block from Tetris hahaha" Now I'm pretty sure we could put like... a potted plant in the bottom half and it'd sweep. Maybe a brick. I mean, I'm not even really anti WCC like L-Block but it's just kinda silly that it's so strong. That being said, I still kinda think Sandbag is gonna flop relative to joke expectations. It makes the contest a laughing stock. Sure Link winning was a given every year, but at least we knew that the people had spoken, and the best "character" had won. Now we have this crap, where we are not even voting for characters anymore. Aren't you on the Contest Analysis Crew? I gotta agree with Lopen here. I mean, it just speaks volumes about the
sense of humor of the voting block that we can get WCC to beat Tidus,
but GLaDOS, a character who is *actually* funny, can't get past Falco.
And I have a solid hatred for Starfox characters, so that one

If there's another 4-way, everyone here should agree to nominate Agro
from Shadow of the Colossus. The people who hate jokes could know it
has potential to make Tanner look like a champ, the people who like
jokes could know it has potential to be a joke that couldn't even get
the "not a character" argument used on it, and we all could laugh that

Well, to be fair, I bet if more of the site had played Portal GlaDOS would be stronger than the cube. It's just like... people who don't even get the reference are still voting for it because "ha ha it's a cube" I dunno though, the Cube actually deserves fans to some degree so I'm not going to assume it's completely static. WCC *is* somewhat normal and not completely static. that said, if
you're expecting it to lose even half the support against Mega Man that

Considering the fact that the Cube seems to be significantly stronger
than Gordon at this point, it's clear that many of its votes are not
from Portal fans. I wouldn't call these joke votes so much as apathy
votes -- that is, apathy for the contest in general. The voters don't
give a **** about these worthless 4-ways so they just wanna see upsets,
they wanna ruin brackets and enrage fanboys. SBAllen probably thinks that he's done some great stuff with the contest and that the inclusion of these joke characters was a great idea because they are so popular. What he probably doesn't realize is that the reason they are getting so many votes is because no one really cares about the contest anymore. On a different note, this is some great stuff from Tidus. He lost to
Vivi last year, who beat DK with around 55% a couple of years ago.
After Brawl and FFX just getting older, this is a really good
performance for him. Tails is probably holding DK back a little, but
still. I highly doubt anyone who isn't fairly regular on this board (or the small number of interested people on boards like LUE) cares in the first place. There's no "credibility" for it to lose. I think I'm the only one who talks about this MM upset.. I might even
be the only one who actually WANTS Snake to lose as early as possible. He's going to knock out Sonic, Mega Man and Sephiroth, my top 3 favourite characters of all time. This is the first time Tidus has looked impressive since v Shadow in
2004. I wouldn't mind losing bracket points if he's the one ruining it.

I can't believe how horribly weak this makes Tails look. Looks like
Sonic is going to be the first noble nine to lose and probably to a

| I think Sonic is safe at least to the Sandbag
Sandbags biggest draw is because it's from SSB, and Sonic is also a

Tails looking weak is nothing new, he lost to the Boss last year after all. And DK, well same old story with him too. The one really impressing today is Tidus. Maybe like Squall a few years later people are starting to warm to him? I guess even the haters have to accept that Tidus is infinitely better in comparison to Vaan or most other RPG heroes in recent years. --- Smurf.
