Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them. X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process. rSFF (Reverse Same Fanbase Factor): An unproven theory that states that an SFF match will feature the expected weaker character receiving more benefit from SFF than the stronger character. For example, all evidence supports Samus being indirectly stronger than Mario, yet Mario blew Samus away during their 2005 match. That's rSFF in action, and the one case we have of the weaker statistical character winning with it. For other information, surf the contest sites a bit. As happy as I am to see Tidus and his newfound "strength", this just
pisses me off to no end at all. So now the final is going to be
something like Link/L-Block/WCC/Sandbag right? Did I miss any other

There's no way two joke entrants will make it from the bottom half. If
one gets in (either Cube or Sandbag), that makes Link the favorite and

I found more affection and use for those mere objects than I did for SOLDIER boy. L-Block has saved my ass so freaking times in Tetris Im indebt to him(Stupidass 4-long block never coming). Dunno why T-Block isnt here also.., and Portal made me freaking love that Cube, I even felt bad at the end of what happens to it(and its just an inanimate object as you said). I lost count how many times I facepalmed at Cloud's actions that I wanted to kick him at the end several times. So yes, Id like to see some change here than just Link and Cloud Killing everything almost every year. --- Warning, there is a bear right behind you. Ride Him. |

Yes, clearly theyre as dominant. I mean beating RYE-YOO and Tidus in a 4 way poll is certainly dominant Weve only had jokes win like this for 1 bloody year, and even then it was on sheer momentum. The rest of the time, it was either FF7 or Nintendo Dominance, with Snake being the only force of nature to change something. how can Joke characters winning be funny anymore? they now have a legit reason to win. it just CAN'T be funny anymore. someone like Kaim Argonair or Jade Curtiss winning the contest would be funny since those have no reason to win at all. |

hochimnih157 did not have Pikachu > Arthas. 18 people scored half points and survived. | Out of curiosity peon, why you care so much on
what happens on a internet poll? I only prefer seeing inanimate objects
win it since im rather tired of seeing Link and anything FF7 related
dominate year after year(and I dont see you complaining about Link,

What really pisses me off about this whole joke character business is
that if people simply don't want Link to win again, they choose an
alternative that's just as stupid as Link. The first year it's an
exciting joke. The second year it's not funny or exciting. Why can't
someone cool like Snake or Samus win? Does Solid Snake even have
haters? One chance for the guy to win a contest and here we can see the

You sound like you think everyone voting for Block/WCC is planning it, and laughing about it to each other. That's not the case. Voting for laughs is universal. Voting for Snake is not. |
