Well Transcience, I don't know about you but I'm in the top 2% in this
contest. I don't think thats too bad considering how unpredictable its
been. Losing a few points isn't going to kill me. --- Contest Point Total: 50 Rank: 98%tile, Tied for 890 This Pick: Tidus > Donkey Kong |

BlAcK TuRtLe (#398) Why would I be pissy about this? Not many have the Cube in their brackets, and those that do also have stupid picks like Sandbag and Mudkip to round 3. WCC is getting too much credit, look at its weak-ass competition. There's no way it's getting past Snake and Mega Man. Mega Man will have to deal with a fanbase split with Zero. Zero is going to hold up very well not only because he did before, but because his sprite is more appealing than Mega Man's. I'd say Cube has a realistic chance. --- Yoblazer: NO LIMITZ Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your world! |

Tidus also has a terrible pic. Doesn't help him any. ZenofThunder needs
to stop making pictures that are Dissidia because they suck. Tidus
isn't even holding a sword in that picture. He looks worse than Zidane
normally does. --- Contest Point Total: 50 Rank: 98%tile, Tied for 890 This Pick: Tidus > Donkey Kong |

Mega Man used to be mainstream, but now he's retro and hip. Expect him to have a massive board vote tomorrow too. |
paraboxx | Posted 10/3/2008 9:30:21 PM | message detail |
Don't know if this is over yet, at least in terms of who gets first.
The one with the best day vote in this mess is probably Tidus, right? On the other hand, picking Tidus to win here involves having confidence in Tidus... |

Oh dear lord. Could Mega Man actually slip by Snake in the Sprite Round allowing the Cube to beat Snake? Zero is also going to be there. So no, Snake gets saved. --- "Men that are trapped by chains of 'maybe' can never reach their dreams!" Explicit Content > me in the Guru |

Oh dear lord. Could Mega Man actually slip by Snake in the Sprite Round allowing the Cube to beat Snake? Nah. Even if Zero isn't there, Snake is pretty safe. Mega Man used to be mainstream, but now he's retro and hip. Expect him to have a massive board vote tomorrow too. Oh? I'm pretty sure The Orange Box has sold more then all of the Mega Man games. So you're pretty much confirming that MM is niche then, correct? --- Good Times, Great Memories |

Tidus also has a terrible pic. That's the best Tidus pic I've ever seen, actually. |

I'm willing to bet 90% of the people that got Orange Box got it for HL2
and Team Fortress. But all the mainstream Mega Man games were A)
limited to one console B) Sold before gaming became as mainstream as it
is. But I would say Mega Man nowadays is fairly niche. |

I'm willing to bet 90% of the people that got Orange Box got it for HL2 and Team Fortress. And I'm willing to bet that 90% of those people have played Portal. What is your point? --- Good Times, Great Memories |

HL2 and Team Fortress. But all the mainstream Mega Man games were A)
limited to one console B) Sold before gaming became as mainstream as it
is. You're right, most people did GET Orange Box for those games. However, pretty much everyone was surprised by Portal and most claimed it as their favorite part of the Orange Box later. --- Demyx is better than Axel. |

MM2, MM3, MMX, and about 2-3 of the Battle Network games are the only
games in MMs history to sell over a million copies. Though the
Anniversary Collections probably did when combine. Still MM had a ton
of games that still sold well back in the pre PS2 era. MM9 is selling
fantastically with only the Wiiware numbers available. --- Our shields cannot withstand wavedashing of this magnitude! Annoying posters! I am the great wavedash! |

Will be interesting to see how much 9 sold. Unfortunately, Mega Man got stuck with Zero in the Solid **** round. Damn it Bacon, why must you taunt me like this!? I think I might actually be cheering for Hayabusa > Zero in round 2 just so I can see Mega Man kick Snake's ass again. Revenge for 2k6! |

140,000 in 2 weeks on the Wii. 3 weeks from now, add in the PSN and XBLA versions, I can easily see it breaking 500k, which is amazing for a downloaded game. |

Yeah, what's the point of having these contests if the winner is a run-into-the-ground joke character? Once again, it was funny one time, now it's just overkill. I don't get the assburger sense of humour. The fact that people get so angsty about an inanimate object beating the empty space that's won just about every other year makes a compelling case, but in the end, I vote for L Block because Tetris is an awesome game, and is what got me into gaming in the first place. The aforementioned crying fits it causes are just an added bonus. --- A season of our stolen youth shall teach old hearts to break ~Primordial-The Coffin Ships |
ZFS | Posted 10/3/2008 9:46:54 PM | message detail |
Could Mega Man actually slip by Snake in the Sprite Round allowing the Cube to beat Snake? Given that we're dealing with user submitted pictures this year, I don't think Snake has to worry about getting his usual sprite. But he performed well enough last year in the sprite round that there shouldn't be much cause for worry. The difference between Snake and Mega Man is substantial at this point. --- Kept you waiting, huh |
