L-Block appears to have normal trends this year- hopefully that means
he'll act like a normal character in staying consistent between rounds

I'm just saying that if his strength is constant this year and this
is the best he can do, hes finished. If it fluctuates all over the
place like last year then he'll easily win this thing again and the
contest will remain stupid. The thing is L-Block isn't fluctuating at all. His range across all 8 of it's matches have been in the slender 6% range between 28% and 34%. . 33% 34% 29% 28% 28% 30% Those are the figures he pulled last year and he's looking for something similiar again today. While I believe he gained some support as he went along last year I don't think for second that he doubled in strenght or some such nonsense that an x-stat approach would have you believe. He's got joke appeal that appeals to an audience and they'll consistently vote him over anyone. Mudkip while slightly lesser reach has a similiar 6% range regardless of opponent strength. Sandbag and Cube probably the same. So if anything I'd say L-Block has been one of the most consistent performers, it depends how you look at it. --- Smurf. Kerrigan was dead in the water against Vincent. I mean jeez she was
down like 40% and that was a 2 way. Ryu and Crono should not be more
then 8% behind the L block next round meaning a rally could do some
good especially in a way. As for giving more attention to block you
just have to be discrete about where you rally I mean a Frog rally over
Axel is hard too both are Square characters and that was easily pulled
off unless you think Frog is capable of the greatest 15 minute rally of

What scares me more is that with Ryu and L Block being in the poll, the
****ing stupid dog is still getting 15%. Imo this means that sandbag or
WCC could become very dangerous players. And I have both of them dying

I don't care what everyone else says, Sandbag's not going far with his
competition and based purely on Brawl strength. At least Cube and
Mudkip have decent chances of going far, with Mudkip benefiting from
strong competition and Cube having a couple rounds to gain strength.

__Smurf__ (#268) I wouldn't complain if he made it that far, obviously, but I don't see it happening. Even if he can get past Magus, it's freaking Sonic and Auron. Hell, I'm skeptical Cube can make it past Mega Man and Snake even with two rounds to build up support. The idea of the kiddies going full force behind L-Block is hilarious. Honestly, I'm pretty sure that's who the 'comedy' of this situation is targeted to. In real life I've never seen someone over the age of 14 mention a Mudkip, and I can only expect it's the same kids still chortling over that one that vote for l-block as a joke. Just reading the pre-match analysis in the old topic. My god, "experts"
hold your head in shame firstly for thinking L-Block would fall way
outside his 6% bracket and secondly doubting the freakin champion who's
been given substantial support before the contest in a poll. Betting on
a sudden shift like that is amatuerish as is going out on a limb
claiming SFF on conjecture. Yoblazer is the only one out of all of you

The idea of the kiddies going full force behind L-Block is hilarious. Kiddies will go full force behind Meta Knight and to a lesser extent the dog. Both L-Block and Ryu will have a bad day vote but from trends so far it looks like L-Block isn't quite as bad with that vote as Ryu. --- Smurf. Also, looks like Cube's Round 3 match will be with Mega Man, Snake,
and... Zero. Maybe Cube will have a better chance of advancing than I

I am not Biolizard first of all I am Osfan, that is me don't call me
Biolizard just because he hates the L Block and I want to rally against
the L Block its just not a very nice thing to do! ;-) I like Tetris too
I just don't want L Block winning by the shenanigans that it is clearly
using to anyone who is halfway objectionable to these contests. Take me
out of the equation and take yourself out as well and anyone looking at
an L Block votal graph could see the tragedy. I am not upset that its
winning I just don't want it winning because in my opinion it will make

Squall to happen, and they'll hurt each other enough for Snake >
Cube to happen. And if Cube can beat Cloud, well, he's a lock for the

I've never given L-Block much credit in my analysis. The only time I've
correctly predicted its placement was in round 3. In round 4 I had it
barely losing to Sonic and I had him in second in rounds 5 and 6. Next

I'd say he's going in as the favorite for first. Win or lose tonight, he'll finish right alongside Ryu, and Crono isn't that
much stronger than the SF2 star (although there's obviously a
significant intrinsic strength gap). Couple that with Block's static
fanbase and the fact that The Dog won't be there to leach joke support,

Crono is way stronger then Ryu. I'd be shocked that L Block beats
Crono. This year, I don't think he'll be getting much stronger every
match, since he has TONS of anti voters, and to a good amount of
people, the joke isn't funny anymore. Thats the reason he's struggling

If he truly does win this damn thing again, then even though I love the
4 way format cuz it makes matches more exciting overall, I'd want to go
back to 1v1, because L Block winning twice in a year truly loses the
contest all credability, jokes about that aside. Theres no fun in the

| It is real tough to beat L, but not impossible I think. The Dog, for some reason, is too strong of a character, and Meta too weak of a character, to mean anything. You'd need a poll of something like Auron/Vincent, Ryu, L, and super fodder to knock L out, since L's static nature only means he grows stronger as he faces stronger competition (and thusly, using two upper tier characters who can nigh split 30%, and a lower tier character to not leech that 30%, means you could have like a 32-31-30-7 vote split and thus L out). |
