UltimaterializerX (#149)
btw, look for a stupidly obvious block spike at 2:20

I wish these cheaters would do a better job cheating. Why only every so many updates? Why not just stream a constant wave of cheat votes, or at least every other update to make it a ping-pong match? These guys aren't cheating in an entertaining enough way.

but Crono/Ryu are looking good as ever if you're one of those people who doesn't believe in The Dog SFF.

Only if L-Block acts like a normal character and gets weaker as stronger characters enter the poll. The question remains whether these L-Block voters will remain loyal to him throughout the contest, and/or whether or not Ammy affects Crono and Ryu enough to stop one or both of them from surpassing L-Block's standard percentage block.

Yes but the point is his floor is looking to be lower this year. Assuming no dog SFF (probably wrong), Ryu and Crono should both manage 27% easily enough, which I think is all they'll need. Unless it obtains momentum.

That was pretty weird. L-Block maintains the same percentage for a full hour (which never happened last year), and now it gets a huge plummet.

Now Ryu's cooking. I doubt L-Block will make another 500 push this time.

Hmm looks like the L-Block might get out of the division after all, but I doubt it has any chance to win this contest.

In addition to examining percentages, I think it's also helpful to examine the amount of time L-Block actually held the lead in matches that he didn't win (these are, coincidentally, his first three matches and the final joke match). Listed below are the approximate times L-Block held the opening lead before his opponent overtook him for good:

Kirby: 0:20
Kratos: 10:40
Snake: 4:05
? Block: 3:10

I think the fact that L-Block will probably surpass the lead duration he had against Snake is impressive. Everyone knew he wouldn't be starting at Link/Cloud crushing strength in Round 1, and the fact that he can maintain a lead that long against Ryu (one of our night vote kings) despite Joke SFF shows he's really poised to go far again.

Holy crap, back to 400 we go. At this rate, a part of me expects L to outright win this match. It's what my bracket says, so as long as he has a lead, I'll hold out some hope.

Best plan to stop him is Sandbag in the finals, though. Come on guys what do you say

Yeah, forget it, it's not dropping off nearly as fast as it was last year despite it looking worse off to start. The only hope of L-Block not winning the contest now is that it doesn't gain momentum this time and that The Dog isn't SFFing it here.

It kinda makes sense to think so. We're all acknowledging that The Dog is a joke character. Doesn't that mean he's getting joke support? Isn't L-Block also getting joke support? There's your fanbase split...

By that logic, 47% are joke votes.

Well I guess that makes sense why the L-Block would win. But against Link, Cloud and Snake the L-Block got 33.51%. I doubt it will get that much in this round and I think the Dog can hurt Ryu as well. A lot of people for the Dog are those who enjoyed Duck Hunt and many of those also loved Street Fighter II when it was popular.

Personally, I think L-Block's going to get weaker as the contest goes on. I'm fairly certain the only people voting for him now are the same people who helped him become champion last year. Who's to say that wasn't his peak of strength, and he isn't going to slowly decline from here on out?

I bet at least 70% got L-Block first in their bracket. If you didn't spend your life to discuss this contest like us on board 8, picking a Street Fighter character over the dude who beat both Cloud, Link and Snake just seems stupid.

I may be fooling myself here, but in the face of such startling consistency, I can't help but think that L-Block might be able to do well with the day vote. I didn't notice until just now, but the damn thing has lost less than 0.5% since its vaunted first hour (and hell, less than 2.5% since the first update). Too damn ordinary for L-Block.

Normally I would say no, but it can't do that bad with the dayvote since his threat is Ryu. I don't think any of them will run away and get an above 2000 lead. Maybe both will collapse when the dayvote comes.
